A-Lin Holds Concert in Taipei, Sees Audience Cheering for Singers in First Row

Celebrity singer Dai Ailing held a special concert titled “FOREVER 21” at Zepp New Taipei on the 17th. On that day, her friends from the music industry such as A-Lin, Van Fan, Penny Tai, and Stanly Huang showed their support in the audience, greatly touching Dai Ailing. She joked that she felt nervous singing in front of so many music kings and queens.

The concert kicked off with Dai Ailing appearing in a dazzling silver dress, opening with a performance of Ricky Martin’s “A Cup of Life.” Setting it apart from her previous concerts, this time she covered a variety of songs by different artists, ranging from Latin to romantic ballads and even took song requests from the audience. She ended the concert with her new song “The One Worthier,” a collaboration with music prodigy Penny Tai.

Speaking of “Forever 21,” Dai Ailing shared a sweet memory from when she was 21, about her first love while performing at a pub. She revealed that her crush was a college student working as a waiter at the same pub. Whenever she sang on stage, he would lean against a wall and watch her, until one day he finally mustered the courage to slip her a note asking, “Can I take you out for dinner?” Thus began their sweet love story.

Dai Ailing chuckled, saying, “I said yes back then, but later felt like I agreed too quickly.” However, she then jokingly added, “I forgot that my mom is here today too!” Inadvertently revealing a long-kept secret about her first love that her mother never knew.

Inspired by this nostalgic story, Dai Ailing continued with the song requests from the audience, singing snippets of A-Mei’s “Rainbow,” and delivering a heartfelt rendition of the classic hit “If the Flower Separates from the Branch” by Chiang Hui. She also performed “Missing You Every Day” by Chang Yu Sheng, all songs that were staples in pub performances back in the day.
