US Intelligence Expert: Beijing Dictator Removes Mask After 12 Years

The leader of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping, has been implementing authoritarian rule domestically and aggressive expansionist policies internationally, causing increasing concerns in the international community. A recent research report published by top American intelligence experts points out that Xi has damaged China’s image in just 12 years, revealing his true nature. Xi is seen as an enemy incompatible with Western countries and values and should be condemned.

Shortly after Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te’s inauguration, the Chinese Communist Party began large-scale military exercises around Taiwan, threatening the island. During the two-day exercises, the People’s Liberation Army deployed dozens of warships, at least 111 aircraft, including Su-30 fighter jets and nuclear-capable H-6 bombers. The drills covered the waters around the Taiwan Strait and the Bashi Channel between Taiwan and the Philippines. Near the Bashi Channel, Chinese military aircraft simulated attacks on foreign vessels and practiced seizing full control of the westernmost islands.

The purpose of the second phase of the exercise, according to the Chinese military on May 24th, was to test the “integration of operations inside and outside the island chain” and assess their capabilities in “joint seizing, joint striking, and domain control.”

Leaders from both parties of the U.S. Congressional Committee on China issued a statement on May 23rd, condemning the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party to Taiwan’s democratic system. They emphasized that such actions would only lead to stronger concrete measures from the United States to assist in Taiwan’s defense and curb China’s aggressive behavior.

On May 25th, the Office of the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) denounced China’s military maneuvers as “unilateral military provocations” that not only disrupt the current peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait but also openly challenge international order. They called on China to cease all forms of verbal attacks and military intimidation against Taiwan.

Even though the recent two-day military exercises by the Chinese Communist Party have concluded, the international community is increasingly realizing that China’s provocations and expansionist behaviors are attempts to use force to alter the status quo, disrupt international order, challenge the United States, and seek global dominance.

A former Beijing lawyer and chairman of the Canadian Alliance, Lai Jianping, stated that Xi Jinping has been engaging in wolf warrior diplomacy and power politics on the international stage, trying to promote his own ideology globally through infiltration and expansion activities.

In a study titled “Xi Takes off the Mask: The Beijing Tyrant has Spent 12 Years Wrecking China’s Image,” published by the Washington Observer in the U.S. on May 17th, it elucidated how Xi Jinping has regressed and tarnished China’s image over the past 12 years.

The report highlighted Xi’s authoritarian nature and his emphasis on consolidating the Communist Party’s rule during his leadership. Under Xi’s leadership, the CCP’s authority has become stricter, surpassing even the intolerance for internal dissent during the era of Mao Zedong, the founder of the CCP.

Xi often compares himself to Mao and encourages personal worship within the party. According to CCP rhetoric, Mao founded the country, Deng made it prosperous, and Xi is leading it to become powerful, turning the red dragon into a global threat.

Xi’s actions clearly indicate his goal of global dominance. China aims to replace the United States and establish a new international order and rules under the concept of a “community of shared destiny for mankind.”

FBI Director Christopher Wray announced in 2020 that Chinese espionage operations pose the “most significant long-term threat” to the United States’ future.

During his almost complete control over China in the past decade, Xi has shattered the illusion that the country with the largest population and the second-largest economy could be a future cooperative partner. Xi has aligned with rogue regimes such as Russia, Iran, and North Korea, distancing China from rule of law and free democratic countries. The CCP under Xi’s regime poses a greater threat than the Soviet Union during the Cold War era, emerging as an enemy irreconcilable with Western countries and their values. Xi should be held accountable and condemned for these actions.

The report, authored by top intelligence analysts, is considered the most resolute and in-depth Western analysis of Xi’s leadership. It challenges the mainstream media’s narrative that Xi is gradually becoming a dictator and asserts that he has been anti-Western from the beginning, urging caution in dealing with him.

Lai Jianping commented that the report offers a profoundly insightful examination of Xi’s personal authoritarian traits and his evolution process, which will significantly impact the Western understanding of Xi and the CCP, serving as a milestone in this regard.

On the day before this report’s publication (May 16th), Xi Jinping met with visiting Russian President Putin. Putin selected Beijing as his first destination after his fifth presidential term, expressing gratitude for China’s support following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and seeking further support amid the backdrop of the U.S. targeting both Russia and China.

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Xi has consistently refused to condemn Russia’s actions, leading to unprecedented levels of cooperation between the two nations. China’s support for Russia in maintaining economic stability amidst Western sanctions has angered both the United States and the European Union.

After the China-Russia meeting, a joint statement emphasized deepening their “comprehensive strategic partnership” and enhancing cooperation in trade, energy, technology, among other areas. Russia claimed that China adopted an “objective and just position” on the Ukraine issue and firmly opposed any form of “Taiwan independence,” expressing unequivocal support for what China calls measures to achieve national unity.

The joint statement mentioned the United States 13 times, labeling American efforts to maintain global stability and peace as “hegemonic actions.” In response to U.S. deployments of missile defense systems in the Asia-Pacific region and globally, China and Russia vowed to enhance cooperation and counter these measures.

The report “Xi Takes off the Mask” notes that since the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991, the United States has been the dominant force in upholding global order. Xi Jinping seeks to replace the U.S. as the global hegemon, outlining it as his strategic goal.

The report also states that since assuming leadership in 2012, Xi has steered China towards confrontation rather than cooperation with the West, particularly the U.S. While China has avoided open warfare with the West, it prefers espionage activities, large-scale cyberattacks, and other deniable actions.

Lai Jianping highlighted that Xi Jinping’s recent actions, especially his alliance with Russian dictator Putin, have awakened the Western countries, including the United States, to the reality of their partnership.

In the early years of his presidency, Xi initially appeared to be somewhat progressive, but his staunch adherence to Marxist-Leninist ideology is deeply ingrained. This was evident in a speech he gave during a visit to Mexico as Vice President of China in 2009.

On February 11, 2009, during a meeting with local Chinese community members in Mexico, Xi Jinping criticized “foreigners who had nothing better to do” for pointing fingers at China.

Some extreme nationalists online expressed excitement over this statement, praising Xi for showing a strong stance and reviving Chinese morale, diminishing foreign influence. His remarks, applauded in some Chinese media outlets like Xinhua, appeared to clash with China’s image of reform and opening up, alarming the international community. Simultaneously, it was perceived as a direct critique of foreigners, especially Americans, during a visit to Mexico, metaphorically seen as the United States’ “backyard.”

Looking back, this incident appeared to reveal Xi’s true character and intentions, sparking global attention. International observers now see Xi’s unabashed embrace of communist ideology, collaboration with Russia, North Korea, Iran, and defiance against the U.S., challenging the global order and rules.

Lai Jianping concluded, stating that Xi’s selfish traits and actions defy political logic and human nature, creating widespread dissatisfaction. He believes that the Chinese people will eventually overthrow the CCP. Therefore, it is crucial to prevent a dictatorial regime like the CCP and its leader from further tarnishing a great nation and a better world.
