Queen’s District: Motorcycle Gang Robs Woman’s Purse in Broad Daylight, Police Issue Wanted Notice

On the evening of May 7, a series of incidents occurred in the Queens neighborhood where two men riding motorcycles robbed women of their wallets. Due to the striking similarity in their modus operandi, the police conducted an investigation which led to the release of photos and videos of the suspects on Wednesday, May 22. Authorities are urging the public to stay vigilant and provide any information that could lead to solving the case.

According to information released by the New York City Police Department’s Public Information Office (DCPI), the incidents took place within the jurisdiction of the 102nd and 114th precincts. At 7:25 p.m. on May 7, two men riding motorcycles passed by 38-14 30th Street in Queens, and as they approached a 50-year-old woman, they forcibly snatched her wallet from her arm, leaving her with a cut, though she refused medical treatment.

Several hours later, at 10:20 p.m. on the same evening, the culprits struck again at 88-10 88th Street, robbing a 38-year-old woman in a similar fashion. They also physically assaulted her face, dragging her along the street for a distance. The woman sustained minor injuries to her face, knees, and elbows, but like the previous victim, she declined medical assistance.

The police mentioned that the two cases occurred in close proximity, displaying clear patterns and characteristics, indicating they might be the work of the same group of people.
