In Hebei, there is a 37-year-old woman who has been growing her hair since the age of 15, and after 22 years, her hair has reached a length of 2 meters. Despite an offer of 800,000 yuan, the woman refused to sell her hair.
According to reports from “Urban Channel” and Netease, the woman, known as Li Juan (pseudonym), is from Zhengzhou, Henan Province. Upon measurement, it was found that Li Juan’s hair is actually 2.03 meters long, almost three times the normal amount of hair for a person. Over the past 22 years, she has never dyed or permed her hair, and its shiny black color is visibly stunning.
Li Juan explained that she spends one hour each day carefully combing her hair, and washing it takes at least 40 minutes.
In an interview, Li Juan mentioned that she was influenced by her grandmother to grow long hair at the age of 15, leading her to abandon the idea of cutting it short. She did not expect that decision to last 22 years. During this time, Li Juan developed a set of hair care secrets: using silicone-free shampoo, applying homemade camellia oil after washing, using a heater to dry her hair in the winter, and ensuring her hair is neatly arranged by the bedside while sleeping. Even when she had her daughter go through the postpartum recovery period, she only trimmed 10 centimeters of the hair ends, as her hands were shaking while cutting.
In August of this year, a wig merchant from Xuchang, Henan, approached Li Juan with an offer of 800,000 yuan on the spot, claiming it was the best natural hair he had seen this year. However, she turned down the offer.
According to the market prices for recycled hair, untreated female hair longer than one meter is valued at 2,000 yuan per jin, and natural hair of 2 meters is even more precious. Over the past five years, the purchase price has risen from an initial 30,000 to 800,000 yuan, but Li Juan’s stance remains unwavering.
She stated, “It’s not about the money; this hair has been with me from my youth to becoming a mother. It’s more precious to me than anything else.”
