The event aims to build a bridge of friendship between Taiwanese and American youth and enhance Taiwan’s international visibility through exchanges.
Chen Yijun, the Deputy Executive Director of the Public Diplomacy Coordination Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed excitement over the selection of 18 outstanding high school students as Young Diplomats through the “Young Diplomats – English Seed Team Selection Event” training camp this year. The students underwent a week-long training and were divided into two groups to visit exchanges on the East and West coasts of the United States, fostering interactions between young representatives from Taiwan and the United States.
Following this, Teacher Wu Jifang from FASCA presented a briefing on the community services conducted by FASCA over the past year and the experiences of the visiting Young Diplomats from Taiwan, introducing their backgrounds, interests, impressive trip itineraries, and reflections. Members of the FASCA Golden Bay Area Branch took turns introducing themselves and sharing insights on various cultural promotion and community service activities in the past year.
Teacher Lin Xiuchun from FASCA led the Taiwanese and American youth in interactive games to enhance communication between them. The event culminated in a group dance performance of “I Believe” by FASCA members, with enthusiastic participation from the Young Diplomats, creating a lively atmosphere.
This exchange allowed FASCA students from the Golden Bay Area and the Young Diplomats to understand each other’s lives and perspectives, fostering dialogue connections between overseas and Taiwanese youth. Both Taiwanese and American youth hope to showcase Taiwan to the world through the power of the younger generation.
