Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has recently injected new vitality into the dimming Hollywood scene. With a perfect combination of gourmet food, fun, and ultra-fast charging, Tesla Diner has attracted thousands of customers, many of whom can’t stop praising the experience.
On July 21st, Tesla’s first restaurant in Hollywood that integrates dining, movie watching, and charging officially opened to the public, immersing the crowd in a rich nostalgic atmosphere combined with a sense of future technology.
The all-day operating Tesla restaurant is located at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Orange Drive in Hollywood and does not close seven days a week. The new restaurant offers simple and delicious meals made from locally sourced ingredients, including freshly grilled burgers, tacos, handmade pies, beef-fat fried fries, ice cream sodas, maple bacon, and other options.
On July 22nd, Musk posted on X saying, “There should be more places like this.” The video he shared showed the entire venue crowded with eager customers.
On July 23rd, Musk continued to post on X saying, “This is my first visit (to the Tesla charging restaurant), I can’t even speak, just amazed and say ‘Wow…’ This is exactly the future scene I imagined: charging my Tesla while enjoying a burger and drinks, plus an outdoor movie – everything happening in this futuristic place surrounded by my favorite products and people.”

On the second day of the new restaurant’s opening, 52-year-old Thor Laewe from Los Angeles, brought his 14-year-old son Brandon to Tesla, where they ordered burgers, fries, yogurt, and apple pie.
“We plugged in the car as soon as we came in, and our meals were already prepared,” he told Dajiyuan. “When I walked in, they called my name, and the food was ready.”
He mentioned that the burgers had a nostalgic style and were “really delicious.”
“I really like the food here,” Brandon said, “the burgers are the best, and I love the apple pie, you have to try it.”
“I really love it (Tesla charging restaurant),” Laewe said after the experience, “the design has a futuristic feel and is also nostalgic.”
In addition to delicious meals, the restaurant also offers a large number of solar-powered electric vehicle fast charging piles and a unique entertainment experience.
The restaurant features a two-story circular building with a silver-gray color scheme, resembling a UFO floating, as if the next-generation “Jetsons” air dock. The restaurant has an indoor dining area and a rooftop outdoor dining area, where customers can watch movies and other entertainment programs on two 66-foot-high LED outdoor screens.
The venue even featured an Optimus robot to assist in popcorn delivery and exchanging fist bumps with customers. However, due to the excessive crowd, staff announced the implementation of a “no-contact” policy.

On the day of the opening of the Tesla charging restaurant, the company posted on X platform, “The site is equipped with 80 V4 superchargers, open to all compatible electric vehicles, making it the world’s largest urban supercharging station.”
Solar panel shades also provide coverage for the charging area on the west side, further reducing carbon emissions and making the charging process more sustainable.
The restaurant can accommodate over 250 customers. Although the ordering lines are quite long, the overall flow is fast.
Tesla has hired renowned Los Angeles chef Eric Greenspan to design the menu, drawing inspiration from classic American diners, offering everything from snacks to full meals.
The menu includes burgers, chili, fried chicken and waffles, sandwiches, all-day breakfast, side dishes, desserts, milkshakes, kombucha, coffee drinks, and “Charged Sodas” – a mix of green coffee extract and ginseng-infused retro sodas.
All ingredients come from local sustainable sources, with the names of collaborating farms and artisan suppliers listed on the menu.
For example, beef-fat fried fries can be paired with chili and cheese; breakfast dishes use organic eggs from whole-grain-fed chickens; kombucha is made with fresh organic ingredients from Oceanside, California; the ground beef for burgers comes from Holstein cows in Calipatria, California; and Cheddar cheese, used for burgers, is made with real cream and dairy products, without preservatives or fillers.
More creatively, food is packaged in “Cybertruck” shaped boxes, and drinks come with eco-friendly wooden straws.
Customers do not necessarily have to tip – according to the food media Eater, Tesla will distribute 20% of total revenue as tips directly to 140 employees.

Louis and Vanessa Rodriguez, a couple from Texas, also experienced the restaurant.
“I think this place is really cool,” Louis told Dajiyuan, “it looks cool, and I think the food is pretty good.” His wife found the food average but thought the overall experience was worth it.
Musk, on the opening day, said on X that this Hollywood restaurant might be just the beginning in the US. “If our nostalgic future-themed restaurant runs smoothly – which I believe it will – then Tesla will establish more such locations in major cities around the world and at long-distance supercharging stations.”
“A green energy charging paradise combining gourmet food, great atmosphere, and entertainment!” Musk said.
