Airstrike in Tehran Kills hundreds of Iranian Revolutionary Guards

On June 23, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a large-scale airstrike on the Iranian capital of Tehran, targeting crucial locations and organizations for the stability of the Iranian regime, including the Basij paramilitary headquarters and the internal security forces Alborz.

The series of attacks by Israel began after Iran launched multiple missiles targeting Israel, affecting various regions across the country, including strategic power infrastructure in southern Israel.

Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz stated earlier on Monday, “For every shot fired towards Israeli territory, the Iranian dictator will pay a heavy price.”

An Israeli official told the Jerusalem Post that hundreds of Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) members were killed in the airstrikes on Tehran by Israel.

The Israeli Defense Forces later confirmed that “over 50 fighter jets” targeted the “military command centers of the Iranian regime.” The strikes included missile and radar production facilities in Tehran and missile storage infrastructure.

During the airstrikes, Israel also targeted the Basij paramilitary headquarters and Evin Prison in Tehran, both affiliated with the IRGC’s paramilitary organization. The IRGC and Basij paramilitary are both designated as terrorist groups by the United States.

The Israeli Defense Forces targeted multiple parts of the Iranian regime’s military strength and internal security forces in Tehran, including but not limited to:

– Iran’s military headquarters in Tehran;
– Tehran’s missile and radar production base;
– Tehran’s missile storage infrastructure;
– Assets of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps;
– Alborz Legion responsible for security in Tehran region;
– Tarara Headquarters responsible for defending Tehran security.

Furthermore, the Israeli Defense Forces later confirmed that in the Monday Israeli attacks on Iran, the access points to the Fordow nuclear facility were also targeted in this operation. Israel’s attack occurred a day after the United States attacked the same target.

Roads leading to the Fordow nuclear facility and its entrance and exits were targeted to obstruct material transportation.

Israel’s attack also included six Iranian airports. The Israeli military stated that early Monday morning, the IDF attacked six airports in western, eastern, and central Iran.

The IDF added that the airstrike caused damage to Iran’s runways, underground shelters, refueling stations, and fighter jets, including F-14, F-5, and AH-1 aircraft owned by the Iranian regime.

On June 23, Israel also struck the notorious Evin Prison located in the northern part of Tehran, known for detaining Iran’s prominent political activists, dissenters, and journalists. Images show smoke billowing over Evin Prison. Reports indicate that the administrative building and hospital at Evin Prison were damaged, leading to casualties among prisoners’ families and prison staff.
