Previously, another well-known beverage company, Migu Xue Bingcheng, had been frequently reported for customers finding cockroaches, flies, mosquitoes, and even desiccants in their drinks. Recently, in Hong Kong, it was discovered that Migu Xue Bingcheng’s drinks had exceeded the standard limits for coliform bacteria by 70%, once again drawing attention to food safety issues in China.

According to a report by mainland media Dahe Daily on June 22, a netizen posted a video showing a whole frog found in a Nai Xue tea box. The person involved expressed, “It’s disgusting, I almost drank it.”

In the video footage, a nearly empty cup of tea appeared to contain what looked like a frog.

The individual explained that she had purchased jasmine tea from Nai Xue tea box last year, which she bought as part of a bulk order that contained some dried jasmine flowers. “The dried frog’s body looks similar to the white [flower], so when you steep it, there’s no way to notice the frog.”

The report mentioned that Nai Xue has contacted the individual involved. The individual has also provided the product and foreign object involved in the incident to Nai Xue.

In the latest video shared by the netizen, employees at a Nai Xue store were seen removing the foreign object from the tea and placing it on a tissue. Nai Xue stated that they will compensate according to relevant regulations under the Food Safety Law.

Netizens commented, “How could there be a frog? Would anyone dare to drink it?”

“A frog so small wouldn’t deform during the tea rolling process?”

“Looking at the pictures, the tea looks good, and the staff’s attitude is nice. It shouldn’t be intentional, stay strong mentally.”

“Nai Xue should promote this vigorously, it’s truly organic, handpicked.”

“Staff: Congratulations on discovering our hidden delicacy — Nai Xue’s Frog.”

“Organic, green and organic.”

“Nai Xue’s quality control is really rubbish, frogs are even being found, treating food safety as child’s play?”
