In the early hours of May 12th, a major fire broke out in the production workshop of Jiutai Pharmaceutical Company in Jinzhou City. At least two injured persons were sent to the hospital but unfortunately passed away despite rescue efforts.
Currently, the fire at the scene has been extinguished, and investigations into the cause of the accident are underway.
Videos from various sources circulating online show flames engulfing the interior of a building, with multiple windows emitting bright flashes of fire and thick smoke. Some individuals who captured the videos reported hearing loud explosions in the distance while resting at home at night, accompanied by the sound of explosions and smoke.
After the smoke subsided, it was evident that three to four floors of a building had been burned hollow.
Public information indicates that Jinzhou Jiutai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. operates five production workshops, one research and development center, and holds a pharmaceutical commercial company. The company is registered with 143 varieties and is designated as the “production base for gynecological medicines” by the former Chinese State Food and Drug Administration.
