Miraculous survival of 9-year-old girl who fell from the 25th floor in Tangshan, Hebei

Recently, in Tangshan, Hebei, a 9-year-old girl accidentally fell from the 25th-floor balcony at home to the 7th-floor platform, resulting in multiple fractures on her body. Surprisingly, she was discharged from the hospital after just 10 days, and the child’s mother described it as a miracle.

According to a report in the “Xiaoxiang Morning News” on April 17th, Mr. Ai, who helped rescue at the scene, stated that the incident occurred around 6 pm on March 27th. At that time, the girl’s mother, Ms. Shen, and him, along with another friend, were discussing work when they suddenly received a call from the girl’s father saying they couldn’t find the child.

The girl’s father had just picked up the child from school and she had gone into her room. Later, when the father called her for dinner, he found the child missing, and despite searching everywhere in the house, she was nowhere to be found.

“It was a resident on the 7th floor who heard a commotion outside the window, something falling, and upon looking, they discovered it was a child, quickly notifying the property management,” said Mr. Ai. The residential buildings in the community did not have protective barriers. The fall from the 25th to the 7th floor was nearly 60 meters. They climbed out of the 7th-floor window of a resident’s home and saw the girl lying on her back with her limbs in the air, blood coming from her mouth and ears, and one eye congested and swollen.

The girl was initially taken to two local hospitals, both of which claimed they were unable to treat her. That night, she was transferred to a children’s hospital in Beijing. After examination, it was found that the girl had fractures in her arms, eyebrows, and thoracic vertebrae, but no head injuries. Following 10 days of hospitalization, she has now returned home for rest.

“When the child saw me, her first words were ‘save me’,” said Ms. Shen, the girl’s mother, to the “People’s Daily.” It is believed that the child may have fallen onto a duct on the platform and walked a distance. She was conscious at the time, which shocked us all, leaving me feeling shattered.”

Ms. Shen mentioned that the child usually does her homework in her room and typically closes the door upon entering. On March 27th, feeling hot, the child went to open the window, and in the process of adjusting the screen, it came loose, pulling her down along with it.

“We all believe this is a miracle,” said Ms. Shen.
