Usually, it can be challenging to find a high-paying job immediately after graduation, but it’s not impossible. As college students across the United States are nearing graduation, Fox Business Channel has compiled a list of some of the highest-paying entry-level jobs.
In April, the job growth in the United States significantly slowed down; however, primary care physicians topped the list with a median salary of $130,000, which perhaps doesn’t come as a surprise. However, Fox’s analysis through Glassdoor found that positions such as pharmacists, software architects, product managers, and software engineers have median annual salaries ranging between $100,000 and $120,000.
According to Glassdoor’s analysis, various consulting and engineering positions also rank among the top 15 highest-paying jobs.
To determine which positions earn the most money, Glassdoor analyzed the median salaries of employees with three years or less of relevant work experience in the United States. Each mentioned job had at least 75 salary data submissions to the company between May 1, 2023, and April 30, 2024.
The U.S. Bank report stated that the data was compiled when potential signs of labor market slowdown appeared, citing a slight decline in job vacancies over the past few months.
The U.S. Department of Labor reported in its monthly wage report that employers added 175,000 job opportunities in April. This number fell short of the 243,000 growth forecasted by economists at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and marked the weakest month for job creation since October last year.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate edged up slightly to 3.9%. These data points have reversed the trend of strong job growth and sent positive signals to the Federal Reserve about potential rate cuts.
