South Korean actress Han Ye-seul, known for her roles in dramas such as “Fantasy Couple,” “20th Century Boy and Girl,” and “Big Issue,” announced today (May 7) on her YouTube channel and official Instagram that she has registered her marriage with her boyfriend Yoo Sung-jae, who is 10 years younger than her.
In a video titled “What’s REALLY in My Bag” uploaded on her YouTube channel today, Han Ye-seul shared her excitement, stating, “I have been waiting for the moment to share this joyful news with everyone,” and revealing, “By the time this video is released, I should have completed the marriage registration with my boyfriend.”
Han Ye-seul went public with her relationship with Yoo Sung-jae, a former stage actor who is 10 years her junior, in May 2021. In the video where she announced her marriage, she expressed, “We are officially husband and wife. I am also ‘sold out.'” She emphasized that during their time together, she never felt like they were just boyfriend and girlfriend, always seeing him as her life partner. She added, “To make our relationship clear to others, we have registered our marriage.”
Furthermore, in the video, Han Ye-seul mentioned, “I will be a May bride. I wanted to register on May 5th, but it’s a holiday on Sunday, so I’m not sure if it’s possible.” She also stated that she plans to feature her husband more in front of the camera in the future.
Following the video release, Han Ye-seul personally announced the news of her marriage on her official Instagram in the afternoon. Along with a photo of her holding hands with her boyfriend (see picture), she wrote, “Ah, we registered our marriage today! I actually wanted to do it on Children’s Day on May 5th, but it’s a holiday; maybe because I like spring, I wanted to be a May bride. Luckily, 7 is my favorite number, so everything is perfect, just pure happiness.”
Han Ye-seul continued, “Although the date and season may not be important when marrying the one you love, making even trivial decisions like this exciting and joyful shows the fun of life. I have been living a meaningful life lately, looking forward to and excited about the days ahead as we live together happily and gratefully.”
