Chinese Communist leader Xi Jinping has not given up the use of force against Taiwan, claiming Taiwan as an inseparable part of its territory despite never having occupied Taiwan. President Lai Ching-te of the Republic of China recently stated that Taiwan must adhere to a democratic, free constitutional system, with the Republic of China and the People’s Republic of China not subordinate to each other, sovereignty not subject to invasion or annexation, and that the future of Taiwan belongs to the 23 million people of the Republic of China.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China announced today the activities of Chinese military aircraft and ships in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait, reporting that from 6 a.m. on the 26th until 6 a.m. today, the military detected 5 instances of Chinese military aircraft (5 instances crossing the median line of the strait and entering the airspace of the north and southwest) and 5 Chinese military ships, continuing activities in the surrounding waters of the Taiwan Strait. The military closely monitored and responded using naval vessels and shore-based missile systems.

During his speech, President Lai Ching-te stated that this was his first visit to the Army Liangshan Barracks. The Special Forces captain just introduced the various equipment used by everyone, whether for mountain climbing, sea diving, parachute jumping, they can handle it all. The dedication of the Special Forces brothers in training to become the elites among the elite of the national army is truly admirable.

“The Special Forces shoulder the important responsibilities of guarding the region, but the original barracks have been in use for nearly 45 years. In order to provide everyone with a better living and training environment, the Ministry of National Defense has initiated the Xing’an Project to build new barracks. The Liangshan Barracks now have brand-new dormitories, restaurants, gymnasiums, and training grounds. I believe that when our military brothers and sisters can rest and eat well, they can give their all in facing more diversified training and continuously enhance the combat effectiveness of the Special Forces,” said Lai Ching-te.

President Lai Ching-te pointed out that the Army Special Forces have taken on significant responsibilities and tasks, such as responding to counterterrorism operations, supporting sudden emergencies in various locations, and providing disaster relief. The rigorous and thorough training everyone undergoes is a crucial military force in protecting the country. He encouraged the Special Forces brothers to continue to train diligently and strive for victory. He also expressed gratitude on behalf of all the people for everyone’s wholehearted dedication, steadfastness, and safeguarding of national security.

In conclusion, Lai Ching-te mentioned that the New Year’s holiday and the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday on January 1 are approaching, acknowledging the hard work of the rotating military personnel and thanking everyone.
