In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China stated that on October 30, the Federal Chamber of Deputies of Brazil’s Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee passed the “Resolution of Thanks to the Taiwan Government for Assisting South Grande River Disaster Relief,” and published a news release on its official website thanking Taiwan for aiding South Grande River through concrete actions, including a donation of $200,000 to purchase essential supplies to assist local flood victims and relief workers. The ministry commended the friendly actions of the Federal Chamber of Deputies of Brazil and its Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee, and once again expressed sincere concern and condolences to the flood victims in South Grande River, wishing for a smooth reconstruction effort post-disaster.

According to a news release from the Federal Chamber of Deputies of Brazil, from April to May this year, South Grande River suffered from heavy rainfall, affecting over 90% of municipalities in the state and impacting more than 2.39 million people. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan stated that it will continue to contribute to international humanitarian assistance efforts through concrete actions, playing a role as a benevolent force in the international community. They also expressed hope for the continuation of the “cycle of goodness” between Taiwan and Brazil, bringing more warmth and care to the world.
