Hello everyone, welcome to “News Horizon”. Today’s focus: Last-minute push in the US election! The two presidential candidates are still neck and neck, with all eyes on who will emerge victorious! Another case of a chained woman exposed, a woman from Hunan imprisoned for 5 years and suffering from mental disorders! Amid the pandemic, employees of Foxconn in Henan staged a mass escape, insiders reveal the shocking reality!

Today is November 4th, with the US election day approaching on November 5th. The current Vice President and Democratic candidate, Harris, and former President Trump from the Republican Party, are still evenly matched. The outcome of the election will largely depend on the swing states.

On November 4th, Harris stayed in Pennsylvania the whole day; Trump held four rallies in three states, starting in Raleigh, North Carolina, and then holding events in Reading and Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania.

Current major polls in the seven swing states show Trump leading with 49%, while Harris has 47.2%, a slight advantage for Trump but still within the margin of error.

According to the latest poll by AtlasIntel, Trump is projected to win all seven swing states. In Arizona, Trump leads by 6.5 percentage points, while in Wisconsin, the lead is only 1 percentage point. The survey conducted on Friday (1st) and Saturday (2nd) among US voters showed Trump leading in Arizona with 52.3% support compared to Harris’s 45.8%, the largest gap among the swing states. In Nevada, it’s 51.5% to 46%; North Carolina 50.5% to 47.1%; Georgia 50.1% to 47.6%. Michigan and Pennsylvania fall within a 2% margin of error, with Wisconsin being the closest, with Trump at 49.6% and Harris at 48.6%.

AtlasIntel, a data collection and analysis company established in 2017, was highly accurate in predicting the 2020 US presidential election, being recognized as one of the most accurate polling organizations. According to its statement, AtlasIntel had an average error of 2.01 percentage points in the 2020 presidential election, leading other polling agencies.

A final poll conducted by the pro-Democratic New York Times/Siena College on Sunday shows Harris leading Trump in three states: Nevada (49% to 46%), North Carolina (48% to 46%), and Wisconsin (49% to 47%).

The harrowing case of a 23-year-old female college student from Changde, Hunan Province, named Zhang Ling, who was deceived and held captive for nearly 5 years, enduring repeated rapes and even giving birth to a child during her captivity came to light in a report by the New Beijing News on November 2nd.

Zhang Ling’s parents had been searching for her for years but with no success. Eventually, in April 2024, after the police tracked her down through her identification information, Zhang Ling was found.

It was in May that the man responsible for her captivity, Zhong, was criminally detained for suspected illegal detention, but due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, he was not prosecuted until May 28th when he was arrested for rape. On October 15th, Zhong was convicted of rape and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The details of how Zhang Ling was imprisoned, violated, and eventually managed to escape are chilling. She recounted that her parents ran a breakfast shop in the urban area of Changde, and after graduating from college in 2010, she returned to work as per her family’s arrangements. Discontent with her family’s control, she sought to break free from familial ties and establish a life elsewhere, only to be deceived and taken to a rural area by a 50-year-old man named Zhong.

On the morning of January 22, 2010, Zhang Ling left for work as usual, only to disappear after taking a taxi. Zhong brought her to a secluded place with almost no neighbors around, where he locked her in a small room on the second floor.

Inside the room, Zhong immediately turned hostile towards Zhang Ling. She was pushed in before she could react. She pounded on the door, yelled, but received no response. Fearing for her life, Zhong threatened to kill her and bury her in the back mountain where no one would find her. That night, she was raped.

Throughout this ordeal, Zhong’s wife and daughter were complicit, not only failing to stop his actions but also taunting and insulting Zhang Ling alongside him. Zhong also attempted to extort money from Zhang Ling’s parents, who tried to ransom her back but without success.

After 5 years of captivity, a turning point occurred one afternoon in 2014 when Zhong’s eldest daughter let Zhang Ling clean the courtyard and was witnessed by Zhong’s son-in-law. He questioned his wife upon seeing Zhang Ling, realizing the unlawful imprisonment was wrong. This marked the first time an “outsider” learned about the carefully concealed secret.

Seeing things unravel, Zhong moved Zhang Ling to an elderly man named Xue Dan’s house. Zhang Ling at the time was vacant-eyed, unable to speak, walked unsteadily, and avoided people. She spent 3 years recuperating at the elderly man’s house until she regained her mental equilibrium and eventually married the man’s son, bearing another son.

Zhang Ling attempted to contact her mother but due to a changed phone number, she received no response. Her parents searched and reported her as missing, with the police including her in the list of missing persons.

It wasn’t until April 15, 2024, when Zhang Ling went to register her son, that the police in Changde, Hunan, found her as a missing person in their database.

Upon their reunion after 14 years, Zhang Ling was unrecognizable, and her current state shocked her parents, who couldn’t accept her current marriage, prompting Zhang Ling to leave her current family. She cried at her parents’ house, missing her daughter and son, and longing to be back with her husband.

Zhang Ling’s captivity experience mirrors that of the “chained woman” from Xuzhou, Jiangsu, who was discovered in January 2022 having given birth to eight children, being mentally unstable and imprisoned for over 20 years, sparking widespread public outrage. Subsequent to this discovery, several local officials were penalized, and the woman was sentenced. However, what is the fate of the chained woman now? Official statements indicate she was sent to a mental hospital for treatment, but numerous attempts by individuals to visit her have been obstructed or even resulted in arrest.

During the pandemic lockdown in 2022, Henan’s Foxconn factory workers staged a mass escape, an incident that shook the world. A Chinese dissident has recently accused that his relative, who worked at Foxconn at the time, witnessed a scene where workers’ “bodies” were thrown into garbage piles during the mass escape.

In October this year, the Chinese dissident, Fu Yifeng, was rescued from Southeast Asia and brought to Canada. In a recent media interview, he stated that the Chinese Communist Party does not value human life, and due to the medical shortages during the lockdown, the Foxconn factory had descended into chaos.

At its peak, the Foxconn Zhengzhou factory had over 300,000 employees. Following the outbreak of the pandemic, Foxconn tried to manage the situation internally, with limited external support. Unable to handle the situation on its own, Foxconn reluctantly allowed its employees to return home.

The chaotic circumstances surrounding the Foxconn employees’ escape were also observed by mainstream media journalists. Stephen McDonell, the BBC correspondent in Beijing, tweeted that some Foxconn employees secretly ran away, walking over a hundred kilometers back to their hometowns. Zhengzhou had imposed new lockdowns in certain areas, restricting movement to cars only once a week. If China’s “zero-COVID policy” continues, McDonell warned of more chaotic events occurring. The public’s high level of ignorance about the virus places a significant responsibility on the government. The fear, panic, rumors, paranoia, and ignorance stemming from the zero-COVID policy led to the Foxconn incident…

Renowned Japanese media personality, Akio Yabuta, once posted on Facebook that approximately two weeks after the outbreak in Foxconn, the Zhengzhou government shut down the factory, confining tens of thousands of workers in dormitories with no space for activities, severe food and water shortages, masks issued every 3 days, no medical treatment for the sick, and some workers endured over a dozen days before the outbreak led to a mass escape.

Foxconn has consistently denied reports of severe infections in the Zhengzhou plant. Inquiries by journalists revealed that Chinese media videos and comments on Foxconn worker strikes and mass escapes have largely been deleted.

However, relevant videos continue to circulate online, depicting late-night scenes within the Foxconn compound where numerous staff in protective suits gather, including a woman crying loudly while sitting outside on an air conditioner unit, shouting about bodies being directly thrown away at room 726, highlighting the dire situation in the employee dormitory area, with workers shouting and whistling.

On November 5, 2022, a video circulated online showed a woman with a Henan accent climbing on an air conditioner outside a building, demanding authorities conduct nucleic acid tests, threatening to expose the situation if they didn’t. She yelled, “The Foxconn workers, the bodies were just thrown away like trash! Bodies were thrown away!”

Additional footage showed a person being dragged away in a big white bag in the rubbish heap, their fate unknown, with another bag seemingly containing a living being. The scenes were chilling.

It is widely believed that the severe management chaos caused by the pandemic led to the mass escape of workers. But, how chaotic did things really get? Fu Yifeng stated, “The reality was even more severe than what was depicted online. When someone had a high fever, they weren’t given treatment, nor were medical personnel sent. They just packed the person into a garbage bag. When the person fainted from the high fever, their eyes would cloud over, they couldn’t stand up, they would simply be packed into a bag and thrown out with the trash.”

He continued, “Many people, when they were feverish and confused, were put into garbage bags, but due to their discomfort, they would roll around inside the bag and end up rolling out of the trash heap. The horror we experienced was indescribable, the complete disregard for human life, it was terrifying and oppressive.”

Fu Yifeng explained that during this time, his relative was still at work, but after finishing work, they didn’t take anything and just followed the crowd to escape on foot. They walked along national highways for five to six days, heading back home.

Of course, all the mentioned details were recounted by Fu Yifeng, a dissident who had just left mainland China, and we cannot verify their authenticity. Listeners are advised to make their own judgments. What exactly happened at the Foxconn plant back then? Beyond Foxconn, what unimaginable events occurred under the strict pandemic lockdown imposed by the Chinese Communist Party? I believe that once the Communist Party’s history turns this page, all truths will eventually come to light.
