Taiwanese Companies Among Top 9 Most Trusted Technology Hardware Companies Worldwide

The latest “2024 Most Trusted Companies in the World” list has been unveiled by Newsweek. Among the top ten companies on the list, the United States and Europe each have three companies, with Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer ASML ranking first. Taiwan’s MediaTek and TSMC are ranked second and third, respectively.

This is the second time that Newsweek has released the “Most Trusted Global Companies” list. The publication stated that trust is an essential component in any relationship, from personal connections to businesses and consumers, particularly in an era where concerns about the application of artificial intelligence are on the rise, making the trustworthiness of companies even more valuable.

This year, a total of 46 companies were selected for the “Most Trusted Technology Hardware” company rankings. Apart from the top-ranked ASML from the Netherlands, the second-ranked MediaTek from Taiwan, and the third-ranked TSMC from Taiwan, the fourth and fifth spots were taken by German company Infineon and American company NVIDIA, respectively.

Newsweek explained that the list acknowledges companies that have earned the trust of consumers, investors, and employees by producing high-quality products, paying fair wages to employees, and appointing effective leaders.

According to ASML’s website, the industry giant based in the Netherlands has been dedicated to customers, collaboration, and technological innovation since day one. Their advanced lithography technology forms the foundation for mass-producing semiconductor chips. With their technology, the world’s leading chip manufacturers can produce more powerful, faster, and energy-efficient microchips.

Rounding out the top ten in the “Most Trusted Technology Hardware” companies list are Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation from Singapore, Roku from the United States, Jenoptik from Germany, Intel from the United States, and Hamamatsu Photonics from Japan.

Taiwan performed exceptionally well in this ranking, with seven additional companies besides MediaTek and TSMC making it to the list of “Most Trusted Technology Hardware” companies. These companies include UMC, Delta Electronics, Macronix, ASUS, Realtek, and Creative.

Over the past two years of Newsweek’s “Most Trusted Global Companies” selection, 1,000 companies from 20 countries and 23 industries have been recognized, spanning various sectors from financial services and media to food and consumer goods. Well-known brands such as Samsung, Scholastic, and Ulta have also been included.

This year’s rankings are based on an independent survey of over 70,000 participants, as well as 230,000 evaluations from customers, investors, and employees.
