“Mission: Impossible 8” wraps up, Tom Cruise ends 5-year residence.

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, who has been mainly residing in the UK for the past five years, has finally wrapped up filming for “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning”, the eighth installment of the series, in the country. After what he described as “a long business trip” over the past five years, Cruise returned to the United States on October 10.

According to The Sun, the 62-year-old Tom Cruise completed shooting for “Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning II” last Thursday, bidding a heartfelt farewell to his loyal crew as they boarded a helicopter in Battersea to head back to the US.

A source revealed to The Sun, “Tom has been living in the UK for 5 years and he absolutely loves it here; there’s no doubt that he will return at some point as he prepares for the next ‘Mission: Impossible’. However, this time he is looking forward to being back in the US to be closer to his adopted son Connor and his friends. These past 5 years have felt like a long business trip for him.”

Due to the initial outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tom Cruise was unable to film the seventh and eighth installments of “Mission: Impossible” in Italy as originally planned, leading the production to be moved to a studio in the outskirts of London, which resulted in Cruise staying in the UK for a continuous 5 years.

During his time in the UK, Tom Cruise embraced the British culture different from the US and frequently made public appearances at local events, almost becoming a celebrity in the entertainment industry in the UK. He even formed a friendship with the British royal heir, Prince William, and his wife, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge. With a lavish mansion in London, the British media believes that although he is moving back to the US, he will still visit the UK occasionally.

Returning to the US, Tom Cruise now faces public curiosity about his family life. His adopted daughter is now married, while his daughter Suri with ex-wife Katie Holmes has been estranged from him for years. Suri, who turned 18 on April 18 this year, has started college and has been living with her mother. Despite rumors of her dropping the Cruise surname, Tom Cruise still covers her annual college tuition of $65,000.
