Hamas Releases Video of American-Israeli Hostages, Biden Responds

Hamas released a new hostage video on Saturday (April 27) featuring two hostages, Keith Siegel, who holds dual American and Israeli citizenship, and Omri Miran, an Israeli citizen.

US President Biden pledged on Saturday to tirelessly work until every hostage is brought home.

President Biden said on the social media platform X that he will not stop his efforts until each hostage abducted by Hamas is “back in the arms of their loved ones.” “I assure them (the hostages). I assure their families,” the president said.

According to reports from Reuters and CNN, the video released on Saturday is similar to previous ones, with Israel condemning Hamas for conducting a cruel psychological warfare.

In the video, 64-year-old Siegel and 47-year-old Miran speak in front of an empty background. They express their love for their families and request to be released. Based on the content of their speeches, the video appears to have been filmed two days prior.

Miran was taken hostage from his home in the Nahal Oz community during the massacre carried out by Hamas in an Israeli community on October 7, 2023.

Siegel, who holds dual US and Israeli citizenship, and his wife were taken hostage by terrorists from their home in Kfar Aza kibbutz. Siegel’s wife was released during a prisoner exchange in November 2023.

In the video released on Saturday, Siegel appears to be speaking under duress, pleading with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to negotiate with Hamas to reach an agreement for the release of the hostages. This is the first video released by Siegel since he was taken hostage.

Miran stated that he has been held hostage for 202 days.

This is the second hostage video released by Hamas in recent days. On Wednesday, the terrorist organization released a video featuring Israeli-American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who was kidnapped at the Nova Music Festival on October 7 last year.

According to Israeli statistics, approximately 250 Israelis and foreigners have been abducted by Hamas.
