Rocket Forces Missile Expert Xiao Longxu Removed from National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference

On October 11th, 2024, Chinese People’s Liberation Army Rocket Force missile expert and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Xiao Longxu, had his membership revoked as a committee member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Currently, Xiao Longxu’s personal information has been deleted from the official website of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Speculation arises from the public suggesting his involvement in a corruption case within the Rocket Force.

During the meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference on Friday, October 11th, it was voted to revoke the national committee membership of Xiao Longxu, the former Chief Engineer and Researcher of the Rocket Force Equipment Research Institute.

Official reasons for his dismissal have not been disclosed. Prior to this incident, most of the senior officials of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Rocket Force have been implicated, leading to the downfall of numerous generals and military experts. Speculation suggests Xiao Longxu’s possible involvement in corruption within the Rocket Force.

Before the publication of this news by Dajiyuan, a reporter visited the official website of the Chinese Academy of Engineering to confirm that Xiao Longxu’s personal information had indeed been removed.

Further investigations on the “List of All Academicians” page using the alphabetical search feature revealed that there are only four academicians with the surname “Xiao” (Xiao Wei, Xiao Xuwen, Xiao Bilian, Xiao Peigen), with Xiao Longxu’s name conspicuously missing.

Public records indicate that Xiao Longxu, aged 62, was born in Shouguang City, Shandong Province. He graduated from the Second Artillery Engineering College (now Rocket Force Engineering University) with a major in missiles in 1984. In 2002, he obtained a Ph.D. in Precision Instruments from Tsinghua University. In November 2019, he became a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Xiao Longxu is an expert in the field of missile weapon control theory and engineering, a researcher at the Rocket Force Research Institute, with first-class professional technical qualifications.
