Israel Attacks Hezbollah Weapon Depot, Kills Two Commanders

On October 10, 2024, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated on Thursday that their Air Force had carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah weapon storage facilities in southern Lebanon, killing two Hezbollah commanders.

The IDF identified one of the slain terrorists as Ahmad Mustaga Alhaj Ali, who had commanded the firing of hundreds of rockets and anti-tank missiles towards the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona. The attack on Wednesday by Hezbollah on this city resulted in at least 150 rockets being launched, causing the deaths of two Israeli civilians and injuring eight others.

The other Hezbollah commander killed was Muhammad Ali Hamdan, who was in charge of the Hezbollah anti-tank battalion based in the village of Meiss Ej Jabal in Lebanon. This village is located near the border between Lebanon and Israel, across from Kiryat Shmona. The IDF stated that Hamdan was also a mastermind behind several attacks on communities in northern Israel.

Additionally, the IDF mentioned that on Wednesday, they targeted Hezbollah weapon depots in southern Lebanon and Beirut. The military stated that before launching the strikes, various measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including issuing evacuation warnings in advance.

Footage released by the Israeli military showed massive consecutive explosions after hitting the Hezbollah weapon depots, with thick smoke billowing from the site.

After nearly a year of cross-border firepower exchanges, Israel launched a ground operation in Lebanon on September 30, targeting Hezbollah armed groups.

Currently, ground clashes between the Israeli military and Hezbollah are spreading along the borders of the southern mountainous region in Lebanon. The entire Middle East region is on high alert.

Hezbollah is an armed group backed by Iran and classified as a terrorist organization by many countries in Europe and America.
