On the eve of Double Ten Day, 14 PLA aircraft cross the median line; Taiwan’s military closely monitors.

On the eve of Taiwan’s National Day celebrations, the Ministry of National Defense announced today that it had continuously detected 20 instances of various types of Chinese Communist Party main, support, and unmanned drone activities at sea. Among them, 14 instances crossed the median line and its extension, which the Taiwanese military closely monitored and appropriately dealt with.

The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense released information today on the dynamics of sea and airspace around the Taiwan Strait. From 6 a.m. on the 8th to 6 a.m. today, the military detected a total of 12 Chinese military aircraft, with 9 instances crossing the median line of the Strait and entering Taiwan’s northern, central, southwest, and eastern airspace. Additionally, 8 instances of Chinese naval vessels and 1 instance of a government ship continued to operate in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait.

Data from Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense illustrated the activities of Chinese military aircraft around Taiwan, with 11 instances of main and support aircraft and one helicopter involved in the activities, including 5 instances crossing the median line of the Strait. Two instances of Chinese military aircraft entered Taiwan’s southwest airspace, one entered the northern airspace, and another entered the eastern airspace.

The Ministry of National Defense of Taiwan stated that the military is closely monitoring and responding using reconnaissance aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems.

Furthermore, at 6:10 p.m. today, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense reported continuous activity of 20 Chinese People’s Liberation Army aircraft, including Sukhoi-30 and KJ-500, support, and unmanned drones, from 12:50 p.m., with 14 instances crossing the median line and its extension, entering Taiwan’s northern, central, and southwest airspace, in coordination with Chinese naval ships for a “joint preparedness patrol.”

The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the military is utilizing joint intelligence monitoring means to closely monitor the situation and has appropriately dispatched reconnaissance aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems for response.

In addition, on October 8th, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense mentioned that China will conduct a rocket launch from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center on October 10th. The rocket will fly in the direction of the western Pacific and pass through Taiwan’s air defense identification zone.
