Trump to Return to Campaign Rally in Pennsylvania, Musk: I Will Be There to Support

On October 5th, after nearly three months, former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will return to Pennsylvania to hold a campaign rally at the site of the “assassination attempt.” Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk announced on social media that he would be attending the event to show his support for Trump.

In a post on social media, Trump shared a photo from July 13 at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he raised his fist and shouted “fight” after surviving an assassination attempt (click for details). The caption read, “Returning to Butler on Saturday – a historic moment.”

Following this, Musk responded on social media saying, “I will be there to support you!” At the time of publication, Musk’s post had received over 210,000 likes.

Trump’s campaign team announced on September 25 that he would return to the site of the July 13 shooting in Pennsylvania to hold a campaign rally.

In a statement, the Republican presidential candidate’s campaign team stated, “President Trump’s return to Butler is his first visit to the shooting site since the assassination attempt on July 13 – his miraculous survival is seen as a divine sign by the world.”

In the 2024 US presidential election, Musk and Trump have put aside their differences and formed an alliance.

After Trump’s assassination attempt in Butler, Musk publicly endorsed him, praising the former president, who represents the Republican Party in the 2024 presidential race, as “strong.”

On July 13, Trump was shot at during a campaign rally in Butler, suffering a minor ear injury. The assassination attempt targeting Trump resulted in the death of one of his supporters at the rally, with two others injured.

The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, was shot dead on the spot by Secret Service snipers.

Over two months later, on September 16, while playing golf at Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump narrowly escaped another planned assassination.

A 58-year-old gunman, Ryan Wesley Routh, had been hiding in the bushes on the golf course for nearly 12 hours, attempting to aim an AK-47 rifle at Trump from less than 500 yards away. However, Trump had not entered his field of view.

Routh fled the scene after being discovered by Secret Service agents and was later apprehended. He has been charged with attempted assassination in a US federal court.

After surviving two assassination attempts, on September 24, Trump received a briefing from US intelligence agencies warning him of “real and specific assassination threats from Iran.”

In response, Trump’s campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung stated that the Iranian regime is “afraid of President Trump’s strength and determination” and that “Trump will not let anything stop him and will continue to fight for the American people to make America great again.”
