Adam Schiff’s Luggage Stolen in San Francisco, Forced to Attend Banquet in Casual Wear

In recent years, San Francisco has been under nationwide scrutiny due to rampant crime. On Thursday, April 25th, Congressman Adam Schiff, also known as 謝安達 (pronounced Xiè āndá) in Chinese, experienced the city’s criminal activities firsthand. His car was broken into in a parking lot, and his luggage was stolen.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Schiff, who represents California’s 30th congressional district in Los Angeles County, was in San Francisco to attend a supporter event. The theft of his luggage forced him to attend a luxurious banquet in casual attire, as the suit he had prepared for the event was also in the stolen luggage.

Schiff is running for the seat vacated by the late Senator Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat from California. He stayed in San Francisco for a few days and parked his car in a downtown parking lot before attending the gathering with supporters.

Based on photos provided by Schiff’s public relations agent, Schiff gave a speech at Ristorante Rocca in Burlingame, dressed in a long-sleeved shirt and a vest, while the other attendees were wearing suits and ties. His attire appeared notably casual in comparison.

Schiff is a Democratic Congressman from California. In November of this year, he will be in a runoff for the Senate seat against the Republican legend of Major League Baseball, Steve Garvey.

The theft of belongings from cars in San Francisco has been particularly severe in recent years. Last year, there were 1,670 reported cases of vehicle break-ins in the city within a 30-day period.
