Tragic Car Accident at the Foot of East Bay Mountain Results in Death of Family of Four

On Wednesday evening (April 24th), a tragic car accident took place on Foothill Road in Pleasanton, East Bay, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of a family of four.

The Pleasanton police reported that the accident occurred around 9 p.m. at the western edge of the city between Stoneridge Drive and Las Positas West Road.

On Thursday afternoon, authorities confirmed that four individuals, including two adults and two children, lost their lives in the crash.

In a statement, the police mentioned, “Once further details become available, we will promptly disclose them. Currently, our top priority is to protect the identities of the victims while notifying their families and conducting the investigation.”

According to CBS News, during a press conference held later on Thursday, Patrick Gannon, the communication director of Pleasanton Unified School District, confirmed that the school was offering counseling and support services to students, families, and faculty members following the accident, which claimed the lives of a “complete family.”

Gannon stated that the emotional state of the school’s students was somber, expressing, “Whenever something like this happens, impacting an entire family, it is truly tragic.”

Foothill Road in Pleasanton has seen multiple fatal accidents in recent years, including a crash on Christmas Eve 2017 that resulted in the death of teenage twin brothers and their friend.

In 2013, a teenager speeding on the road collided with two cyclists, resulting in the death of a 58-year-old woman and injuries to her husband.

This recent tragedy adds to the history of fatal accidents on Foothill Road in Pleasanton, highlighting the ongoing concern for safety on this stretch of roadway.
