Newton Taiwan Day on 5/4: Taiwan Ten Drum Art Percussion Group Performance

Newton Taiwan Day, organized by the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) in Boston in collaboration with Newton Hyde Community Center and various overseas Taiwanese organizations, has been held annually since 2007 on the first Saturday of May at the Taiwan Garden Plaza next to the center. The activities of the event include flag-raising ceremonies, parades, and exciting performance programs.

This year, Newton Taiwan Day is honored to host the world-renowned Ten Drum Art Percussion Group, which has been nominated for three major awards including the Golden Melody Awards, Grammy Awards, and Independent Music Awards. In addition, numerous Taiwanese groups will set up booths showcasing a variety of Taiwanese cuisine, traditional cultural arts and crafts, as well as charitable organizations, aiming to promote Taiwan’s diverse and high-quality culture to the mainstream society, with the hope of boosting Taiwan’s visibility and reputation.

The organizing committee of Newton Taiwan Day is looking forward to meeting everyone on May 4th. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 90 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands, MA. Admission is free. Let’s come together to celebrate the rich tapestry of Taiwanese culture and community spirit at the Newton Taiwan Day.
