He Jinli Accepts Invitation to CNN Presidential Debate, Trump Does Not Respond

Democratic presidential candidate Hé Jǐnlì’s campaign team announced on Saturday (September 21) that she has agreed to participate in another presidential debate, this time to be broadcast on the Cable News Network (CNN). The Republican candidate and former president, Trump, did not respond.

Multiple media outlets reported that the proposed presidential debate is scheduled to take place on October 23.

Jen O’Malley Dillon, Hé Jǐnlì’s campaign manager, stated in a release: “It is important to give the American people another chance to see Vice President Hé Jǐnlì debate with Trump before voting.”

Trump, a former president and the Republican presidential candidate, has yet to respond.

The statement from O’Malley Dillon continued: “Vice President Hé Jǐnlì is ready for another opportunity to stand on the same stage with Trump, and she has accepted CNN’s invitation to participate in the debate on October 23.”

“It shouldn’t be a problem for Trump to agree to participate in this debate,” the statement added.

As of now, Trump has not responded to the statement from Hé Jǐnlì’s campaign team.

After the second presidential debate held on September 10 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Hé Jǐnlì’s campaign team immediately called for another debate with Trump and stated that Hé Jǐnlì was ready.

This is the first presidential debate that Hé Jǐnlì will participate in after replacing President Biden following his withdrawal. President Biden chose to withdraw after performing poorly in the first presidential debate.

Earlier this month, Trump stated that there would not be any more debates. He explained that only the losing side would request another debate and that Hé Jǐnlì had declined invitations for presidential debates from multiple American television networks in the past.

However, Trump seemed to leave some room for a potential next debate during an interview with Fox News.
