Joint Administration Camp to Be Hosted by Northern California Chinese School Association

The Northern California Chinese School Association (NCCSA) will be holding an “Administration Camp” on November 16th (Saturday) from 1 pm to 5 pm at the South Bay Overseas Chinese Education Center. The event aims to share information about school management with both member and non-member Chinese schools.

NCCSA President Li Naya stated that this year’s Administration Camp will feature experts in finance, regulations, campus bullying, special education for students, and other fields to provide practical guidance on managing Chinese schools within the current legal framework for school administrators. She hopes that both member and non-member schools will actively participate to enhance the operational efficiency of schools.

At a press conference, Director Zhuang Yashu of the Overseas Chinese Education Center emphasized the importance of administrative team support for the sustainable development of Chinese schools, in addition to teacher training.

Whether it is academic staff or administrative support, these forces are crucial for overseas Chinese schools. She expressed gratitude for NCCSA’s annual Administration Camp, which promotes the sustainable development of overseas Chinese education through the transmission of experiences.

Vice President Fu Qijun mentioned that this year’s Administration Camp is currently in the planning stage. Experienced principals and experts will be invited to address issues such as background checks for teachers and volunteers, tax matters, insurance, TCML applications, volunteer management, and regulatory requirements for non-profit schools.

Furthermore, there will be discussions on AP credits to help schools better serve students. The active participation of school administrators from various schools is eagerly anticipated to facilitate mutual exchange of educational experiences.

Former President Wang Changtai specifically reminded member schools that if more than 5 employees use W2 for tax reporting, they must open 401K accounts for them. If not established, employees must sign a waiver declaration, emphasizing the importance of compliance. For more details, please contact Vice President Fu Qijun at (408) 221-6514. ◇
