People often say that the most heartwarming sound in the world is the innocent laughter of a baby. And indeed, the laughter of baby boy Easton McKinney from the United States, upon seeing a little puppy for the first time, has melted the hearts of countless netizens.
Easton’s mother, Kirsten McKinney, runs a marketing company, while his father, Elijah McKinney, is in a management position. This young couple enjoys creating interesting content on Instagram.
Recently, they shared a video showcasing the heartwarming moment when six-month-old Easton first saw a puppy named Sherman, and couldn’t stop giggling.
Elijah’s sister is the owner of this little Dachshund. As soon as it entered the play area where Easton was, the baby boy burst into giggles.
“And when Sherman saw this ‘little friend’ about the same size as it, it was equally excited, even finding it hard to control itself, as it raced around the room at the fastest pace, spreading joy freely,” Kirsten told Epoch Times. “The faster it ran, the happier and louder Easton laughed.”
Kirsten said Easton and the little puppy spent a delightful 30 minutes together. “Every time the puppy barked, yelped, or ran around, Easton couldn’t help but giggle.”
“At one point, my husband ran back and forth with the dog,” she said. “Watching his dad play with the puppy, Easton found it all incredibly amusing.”
This 28-year-old mother said the video is a microcosm of Easton, showing how he always manages to find things that make him happy. She added that seeing them laugh so joyfully also brought her “pure happiness.”
For the McKinney couple, family holds great significance. Both raised in central Ohio, just a mile apart, they practically grew up together. By their early twenties, they were married within less than a year of dating.
Shortly after, Kirsten discovered she was pregnant. Unfortunately, her first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, but not long after, they successfully conceived their Rainbow Baby.
“We really wanted a boy to honor Elijah’s father,” Kirsten said, mentioning that Easton’s middle name, Paul, is taken from his recently deceased grandfather’s name. “When we found out we were having a boy, we were overjoyed, to say the least.”
She described her son as “a super calm, happy baby from the moment he was born.”
“He started smiling after a week, laughing out loud after a month. He’s just naturally an optimist.”
The mother said the video showcasing the happy interaction between their son and the puppy is “definitely one of the best moments.”
Kirsten isn’t the only one who finds this moment special. When she shared the video with her mother, her mother immediately shared it with more people, saying that such a video should go viral on the internet.
“A week later, I released the video to the public, confirming the age-old saying ‘Mother knows best’,” Kirsten said, noting the video received 10 million views in a day and has now surpassed 80 million views.
