The Houston Hakka Association held a spring outing event at Eldridge Park on Sunday, April 21st at 11 a.m., with dozens of people including President Zhan Huancai, Chairperson of the Arts and Education Foundation Fan Biwen, President of the Women’s Association Qiu Xiuchun, and members of the board of directors.
Zhan Huancai mentioned that although there were storms yesterday, it turned out to be a beautiful day for an outing, thanks to all the board members who prepared and planned everything, especially the Women’s Association team who worked together to prepare delicious hometown dishes like grass jelly green bean soup and moxa leaf vegetable buns. The board members also arranged performances for the attendees.
Apart from Taiwanese bento boxes, Hakka snacks, and fruits, the event also featured games and entertainment activities hosted by board members Luo Xiujuan, Qiu Xiuchun, and Huang Mali to engage the participants in fun and fitness activities. The choir members showcased their talent by singing the “Hakka Association Anthem and Childhood Dreams” together, while Liu Rufeng performed a solo of “True Hakka Style.”
The guessing game segment of the event brought many surprises, with prizes arranged thoughtfully by the board of directors for everyone to enjoy. The outing event was lively and colorful, with members enthusiastically sharing their joy on the LINE group.
