Today’s headlines: Turnaround at China-Africa Forum! South Africa sets conditions; CCP “guru”: Beijing keeps giving money to Africa; Splurging money to cover up what? Belt and Road Initiative: Spending lavishly to no avail; Economic red flags everywhere, Chongqing resorting to drastic measures; Indian Ambassador: All of CCP’s friends are enemies in disguise.

The “China-Africa Cooperation Forum Summit” hosted by the CCP is scheduled to take place in Beijing in September. It is clear to keen observers that such a cooperation forum mainly involves African counterparts coming for wining and dining, possibly negotiating some hefty economic aid or deals. It’s a trade-off: one provides funds in exchange for diplomatic support.

During the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, a so-called CCP “guru,” Professor Jin Canrong from Renmin University, gained attention due to a lecture video from last year that went viral. In the video, Jin Canrong exposed the CCP’s “diplomatic weakness” and the code for African countries to ask money from the CCP.

When you hear these words from Jin Canrong, what is your reaction, shocked?

Answer: Not shocked. The CCP’s practice of money diplomacy is an open secret; what surprised me more is Jin Canrong’s comments on African leaders’ thick skin. They receive the money and yet are accused of having thick skin. Be cautious lest African leaders turn on you after receiving money and demand more.

However, the key point is, while Jin Canrong accuses African countries of potential deception, isn’t it more crucial to ponder over the fact that the CCP foots the entire bill? For the sake of getting African countries to acknowledge Taiwan as a part of China, to secure their vote in international forums, the CCP is inevitably engaged in such transactional deals. Ultimately, it’s not their own efforts at stake but rather the hard-earned money of the common people.

But I wonder, with Jin Canrong’s remarks, will the CCP’s top brass choose to reprimand or support him? I’m quite curious. After browsing numerous comments on Weibo about Jin Canrong, the majority seem to perceive him as a delusional figure, a CCP bootlicker seeking public attention, a speculative opportunist. This kind of person is actually quite dangerous because you never know when they might fall from grace and end up behind bars.

Jin Canrong, in a way, admits that much of the CCP’s international diplomatic support comes from money? How should we view this money diplomacy? How much loyalty can be gained through such acquired support?

China’s “great power status” was bestowed upon by African countries. UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 was passed on October 25, 1971, during the 26th session of the UN General Assembly concerning the “restoration of the lawful rights of the People’s Republic of China in the United Nations.” Thus, the People’s Republic of China replaced the Republic of China as China’s representative in the UN. Therefore, Mao Zedong always said, “It was the African brothers who carried us into the United Nations.” In reality, Resolution 2758 is illegal and does not align with historical facts.

In recent years, the CCP has cultivated some Asian, African, and Latin American individuals to serve as UN Secretary-General or senior officials, significantly increasing China’s sway and power. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the CCP covered up the virus’s origin by bribing certain officials within the World Health Organization and officials in some African countries.

The CCP’s human rights abuses have been smoothed over through financial transactions with Asia, Africa, and Latin America, not only in terms of voting rights. The Human Rights Council acts at will, all thanks to the money spent.

Regarding the Taiwan issue, in the past two years, the CCP has been distorting Resolution 2758, claiming that allowing China into the UN as a permanent Security Council member also means that Taiwan is part of China, thereby stripping Taiwan of its participation in UN organizations. While it appears that the CCP dominates alone, it actually relies heavily on the support of many African countries.

During this year’s China-Africa Forum, South African President Ramaphosa raised concerns in Beijing, demanding a change in trade imbalances and a reduction in South Africa’s trade deficit with China. Ramaphosa also mentioned that the CCP had not fulfilled its promise from the 2021 China-Africa Summit to purchase $300 billion worth of African goods. It seems that the CCP’s financial diplomacy hasn’t completely won over African counterparts.

Considering China’s current economic struggles at home, with youth facing job shortages, generational conflicts, and middle-aged individuals encountering layoffs and pay cuts, is it even more difficult for the Chinese people to accept their government’s international largesse?

Answer: Whether people feel distressed depends on what news they follow, information they receive, and their awareness level.

Let’s first talk about Chinese individuals who are not troubled by the CCP’s financial generosity. The CCP’s textbooks and societal information continuously brainwash the populace, creating an illusion of how challenging it is for the ruling authorities to manage the country. In simple terms, this is a form of PUA brainwashing on the population, making you consider the CCP’s perspective. The most successful example is North Korea. Hence, many Chinese citizens end up thinking like cabbage while having the leader’s mindset. When will the differences between the populace and the CCP’s ruling elites truly show? It’s when they begin thinking for your benefit, not just their own. The CCP’s money splurges don’t aim to secure the country and its people but to ensure their political safety because their self-interests are at stake. When you lack job opportunities, face unemployment, have no social healthcare coverage, or even risk becoming an organ donor in prison, these differences become apparent.

To discern whether a country is truly looking out for you or merely engaging in PUA (psychological manipulation) requires assessing if the government is genuinely solving your problems. In essence, if you hold a vote, the government becomes your servant, there to address your concerns. This is why democratic nations always embody universal values worldwide.

Therefore, a reminder to all: Loving the country and nationality is commendable, but loving the regime does not equate to loving the nation.

Secondly, let’s discuss Chinese individuals who feel discomfort witnessing financial spending, individuals who have gained awareness of the CCP’s true nature and can no longer tolerate its monstrous behaviors.

I met a Chinese aunt yesterday who shared that she came to the US because her son, after studying here, broadened his perspectives and no longer believed in the CCP system, refusing to return to living under CCP rule.

We are witnessing an increasing number of young Chinese individuals awakening and beginning to think independently.

The most effective way to topple the CCP is to breach the firewall, break through the barriers, and spread the truth and messages from the free world inside the wall.

However, the CCP’s influence in Africa should not be underestimated. A Gallup poll in April this year revealed that China has surpassed the US to become the most influential country in Africa, rising in parallel with China’s investments in the continent. In the current global environment of US-China tensions, what role does the CCP envision for Africa in its strategic plans? How should the US and Western nations counteract this influence?

Objectives: 1. International diplomatic sway. 2. Global expansion strategy (establishment of military bases in East Africa’s Djibouti, reported plans in March for establishing a naval base on the Pacific coast in West African country Gabon), including ports, airports, and other infrastructure.

3. Mineral resources. The current China-Africa trade primarily revolves around minerals and oil. For instance, in the case of cobalt, graphite, manganese, platinum group metals, lithium, China is the main importer of key minerals from Africa. 72% of cobalt, 28% of graphite, and 58% of manganese exports from African countries go to China, with 89% of platinum group metals primarily exported to Europe and America. In a Reuters exclusive report in May this year, it was stated that following the pandemic, China is ramping up investments in African mineral resources, with Chinese investment in Africa increasing by 114% last year. China’s total investment in Africa last year (including construction contracts and investment commitments) amounted to $21.7 billion, making Africa the region receiving the largest share of China’s investment.

According to data from the US-based think tank American Enterprise Institute, investments in 2023 are projected to reach nearly $11 billion, the highest level since the institute began tracking China’s economic activities in Africa in 2005. Approximately $7.8 billion went into mining, including investments in Botswana’s Khoemacau copper mine, cobalt and lithium mines in Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

4. Obtaining control over the African Union and certain countries, including through cyber intrusions and controlling political-business resources. Starting from students and trading, this is part of the long-term layout by the CCP to nurture its own people in these nations. We often mention the CCP’s lavish spending, where many African students receive 200,000 RMB annually to study in China, seemingly brainwashed. In reality, the CCP thrives on the sacrifices of the Chinese people, reaping its political and business benefits.

Many believe that US-China relations represent the most crucial international relationship of the 21st century, a clash between democracy and authoritarianism, freedom and slavery. This rivalry will undoubtedly have global repercussions and define our era. Each individual in this time must make their choice. Thank you for watching this edition of News Boulevard.
