On the afternoon of August 24th, a conflict broke out during the new semester registration due to trivial matters like mocking appearance and nicknames. Six female students including Ma, Su, and Ding bullied two female students from the school through slapping and verbal abuse. The third segment of the video occurred on July 15, 2024, where a person named Yang (a graduate of the 2023 class of Dongzhong Middle School) slapped a eighth-grade female student named Ma due to personal conflicts outside the school.

The incident has sparked heated discussions online. Netizens commented: “Who are these children learning from?”, “This is just what was captured on camera, what about those that weren’t?”, “It feels unsafe for children to even go to school to study.”

“What do you mean by no abnormal physical conditions?”, “What about their mental state?”, “While physical abnormalities can be treated, mental abnormalities might require a lifetime to heal.”, “How will the perpetrators be dealt with?”

Bullying incidents on Chinese school campuses are not uncommon and even turn violent. Regarding this, historian Li Yuanhua, who resides in Australia, previously told Epoch Times that the root cause of various chaos in Chinese school campuses lies in the Communist Party’s destruction of traditional morals, especially teacher ethics. Traditional Chinese education focuses on cultivating moral virtues. After the Communist Party seized power, education became a tool for brainwashing and the complete destruction of traditional culture. Therefore, teachers not abiding by ethical standards sexually abuse students, and bullying phenomena among students persist. This is a reflection of social chaos within the realm of school education, rather than just a simple campus issue.

He said, “If the entire society is like this, tackling school problems alone is not the solution because many bullies rely on their fathers or relatives who are high-ranking officials or powerful individuals. Moreover, students do not see positive atmospheres in society; all they see is the strong preying on the weak. Therefore, from a young age, they aspire to be dominant in school, believing that by bullying the weak, they are showcasing their abilities. This inverted sense of right and wrong is prevalent in the minds of young people.”
