Taiwan Ministry of National Defense: 9 Chinese aircraft cross median line in Taiwan Strait, China launches rockets on 29th.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China said that from 6 a.m. on the 26th to 6 a.m. today (27th), a total of nine instances of People’s Liberation Army aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait. The military used joint measures to closely monitor and respond to the situation. In addition, the Chinese Communist Party will launch a carrier rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi on the 29th, which will pass through Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China today released information on the activities of People’s Liberation Army aircraft and vessels in the airspace around the Taiwan Strait. From 6 a.m. on the 26th to 6 a.m. today, they detected 15 instances of PLA aircraft (including 9 instances that crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait into the airspace of the northern, central, southwestern, and eastern Taiwan), 7 PLA vessels, and 3 government ships continuing to be active in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait.

The Taiwanese Ministry of National Defense stated that the military used aircraft, ships, and surface-to-air missile systems to closely monitor and respond to the situation.

According to the flight track map released by the Taiwanese Air Force, the military detected a total of 11 instances of aircraft including fighters, reconnaissance aircraft, drones, and helicopters on the 26th from 7:38 a.m. to 6:43 p.m. (with 5 instances crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait), disturbing the airspace in northern Taiwan, about 94 nautical miles from Keelung. From 9:13 a.m. to 12:19 p.m. on the 26th, there were 2 instances of fighter jets detected, about 95 nautical miles from Keelung.

From 8:49 a.m. to 10:49 a.m. on the 26th, one instance of a helicopter intruding into the airspace in eastern Taiwan was detected, about 45 nautical miles from Green Island. From 3 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. on the 26th, one instance of a helicopter intruding into the southwestern airspace of Taiwan was detected, at distances of approximately 99 nautical miles and 50 nautical miles from Cape Eluanbi.

The Taiwanese Ministry of National Defense also announced the launch activity of the People’s Republic of China’s carrier rocket. The Chinese Communist Party will launch a carrier rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi (in the Yellow Sea area) on August 29, flying towards the western Pacific direction and passing through Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
