The Ministry of National Defense released a video titled “Defend the Homeland, Never Retreat,” emphasizing that national defense security comes from the strong determination of every soldier to defend the homeland, with all officers and soldiers performing their duties diligently without regard to day or night.
The official Weibo account of the People’s Liberation Army Eastern Theater Command released a video titled “Battlefield at Sea” on July 31, featuring PLA military drills against Taiwan under the codename “Joint Sword-2024A,” as well as footage of military planes and ships harassing Taiwan, along with animated simulations of attacking target cities in Taiwan.

The Ministry of National Defense today released a video produced by the Military News Agency titled ‘Defend the Homeland, Never Retreat,’ emphasizing that national defense security comes from the strong determination of every soldier to defend the homeland, with all officers and soldiers performing their duties diligently without regard to day or night; the steady pace of strengthening and preparing the military of the national armed forces has never stopped, firmly guarding the national territory and sovereignty, and resolutely upholding the values of democracy and freedom.”
The Ministry of National Defense’s video “Defend the Homeland, Never Retreat” draws from the dedication of the national military in the Han Kuang Exercise and live fire shooting missions, faithfully conveying the national defense awareness of the entire population. The People’s Republic of China has never had sovereignty over Taiwan, yet claims Taiwan as part of its territory and frequently dispatches military planes and ships to harass Taiwan. The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China stated today that from 6 a.m. on the 2nd to 6 a.m. today, 18 incidents of PLA aircraft (including 11 instances of crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait into the southwest and eastern airspace), and 13 PLA ships were detected, continuing to operate around the Taiwan Strait. The national military is closely monitoring and responding using surveillance aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems.
