The 4th Bronx Summer Cleaning Event kicks off, volunteers can receive New York Yankees’ home game tickets

The New York City Sanitation Department’s official non-profit organization, the Sanitation Foundation, is gearing up to collaborate with the New York Yankees to launch the fourth annual Bronx Summer Cleanup Series this summer. The series of events will kick off on June 22, aimed at cleaning up five vibrant communities in the Bronx. Last year, 600 volunteers cleared 5000 pounds of garbage during the event. This year, they aim to achieve even greater results. Volunteers not only get tickets to Yankees home games but also have the chance to experience a VIP treatment.

The cleanup activities are scheduled on specific Fridays and Saturdays from June to August, running from 10 AM to 12 PM. The Sanitation Foundation will provide all tools and safety equipment, with volunteers collecting trash along planned routes. Dates and locations for the Bronx Summer Cleanup Series are: (1) June 22 (Saturday) – Crotona Park East; (2) June 28 (Friday) – Westchester Square; (3) July 13 (Saturday) – Mott Haven; (4) July 19 (Friday) – Bedford Park; (5) August 2 (Friday) – Yankee Stadium.

Pam Harris, Chair of the Sanitation Foundation, emphasized that serving as a volunteer not only gives back to the community and helps clean city sidewalks but also provides a voucher that can be exchanged for two tickets to a 2024 regular season home game of the New York Yankees in the Major League Baseball.

In addition, the Sanitation Foundation mentioned in a statement that they will organize a fun competition. Volunteers who participate in the cleanup work and collect the most trash when the Bronx Bombers (nickname for the New York Yankees lineup) face the Texas Rangers on August 11 (Sunday) will receive a special VIP experience at Yankee Stadium.
