Li Zhitin Returns After 4 Years, Joins New Agency as Show Lo’s Apprentice Sister

After a four-year hiatus from the music industry, Li Zhitong has announced her return by signing with a new label. This time, she returns to the music scene with her new song “Don’t Say It Hurts After Getting Used to It,” which was specially composed in collaboration with her fellow senior schoolmate Xiao Huangqi. The song reflects her inner feelings during her time of introspection, aiming to empower listeners to face their vulnerabilities with courage and embrace strength.

Singer Li Zhitong gained attention for participating in singing competitions and had released an album in the past. It has been four years since her last album, during which she has transitioned from a naive young girl to a mature artist. Li Zhitong jokingly remarked, “The biggest change in these years is that I have transformed from an ‘E-person’ to an ‘I-person’ (referring to the MBTI personality test, where ‘E-type person’ denotes extroversion and ‘I-type person’ denotes introversion)! The biggest change is that I now see everything in a more relaxed manner, in plain words, I’ve become more accepting of fate.”

For Li Zhitong, this new single holds significant meaning. She shared that in the past, she struggled to live up to the perfect image expected by others, leading to a distorted mindset of self-loathing. She expressed, “During the period of self-loathing, I was mentally collapsing, feeling misunderstood, unable to comprehend myself. I would either lie in bed all day unable to get up or drown my sorrows in alcohol, becoming cynical and unwilling to do anything.”

“Don’t Say It Hurts After Getting Used to It” boldly unveils Li Zhitong’s vulnerable side, hoping that everyone who listens to this song can embrace strength. Refusing to remain stagnated, she began engaging in activities like exercise, cooking, reading, and enjoying nature, gradually expanding her interests. With the support of friends who lent a listening ear, she started reconciling with herself, rediscovering the ability to accept and love herself.

Recalling the process of collaborating with Xiao Huangqi, Li Zhitong happily shared, “I remember when we were writing the song together, I was so nervous when I stepped into the recording studio that I could hardly speak. I was afraid of not performing well, but Teacher Xiao Huangqi’s humorous nature helped me relax gradually. In the end, we were both very satisfied with how the melody of this song turned out.” Li Zhitong also expressed her gratitude to everyone who gave her the opportunity to work with the talented and humorous Teacher Xiao Huangqi on her first single in nearly four years back in the music industry.
