Civil Court Judge Candidate Tian Tan Jianxian Visits Confucius Building in Manhattan

On June 8th, Tan Jianran, a Democratic candidate for civil court judge in Manhattan’s second district, visited the Confucius Plaza in Chinatown, New York City. She was welcomed by the chairman Meiluo Sheng, Democratic District Leader Yu Jinshan, Li Yanjuan and residents.

Tan Jianran immigrated to the United States from Hong Kong with her parents and has been practicing law for 30 years. She first worked as a prosecutor and is now a lawyer in the high court. Given the scarcity of Chinese judges which makes it difficult to represent the Chinese population, Tan Jianran decided to run for judge, aiming to advocate for the Chinese community based on her professional experience and qualifications.
