Jiangxi Shangrao was hit by a sudden mudslide early this morning (video)

In the early morning of September 18, 2026, a mudslide occurred in Gaofeng Village, Wuzhifeng Township, Shangrao County, Jiangxi Province, China. Surveillance footage captured vehicles being swept away, houses collapsing, and roads collapsing due to the mudslide.

According to mainland Chinese media reports, on the same early morning, a mudslide hit Wuzhifeng Township in Shangrao County, with a large amount of rainwater carrying mud and sand rushing into residential areas, covering some roads with mud and sand. Surveillance footage showed that after the mud and sand rushed into the residential area, several sedans parked on the road were swept away.

An employee of a tea company stated that they discovered the situation in time, and company employees evacuated from the mountains overnight, but some houses were destroyed by the mudslide.

A villager mentioned that many large rocks rolled down, and upon hearing the sound of rocks falling, they quickly evacuated.

At noon on the same day, the Shangyou County official announcement reported that due to recent heavy rainfall, a mudslide crisis occurred in Gaofeng Village, Wuzhifeng Township, Shangrao County on the early morning of September 18, with four vacant houses collapsing, partial transportation within the village being disrupted, and no casualties or missing persons reported.
