The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival will return to Franklin Square on June 20 and run until August 18, with doors opening each night at 6 pm. This year’s lantern display will feature a giant 200-foot glowing dragon and dozens of intricately handcrafted lantern sculptures to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. In addition to the lanterns, there will be cultural performances. The festival admission includes access to the live performances in the evening. Attendees can also enjoy classic Asian cuisine and other refreshments during the event.
On Fridays and Saturdays, timed tickets are required for entry, and guests can enter 15 minutes before the time slot indicated on their ticket. The final entry time is at 10:30 p.m. After entering, attendees are not allowed to leave as re-entry will not be permitted once they exit the festival grounds, and tickets will be void after the festival concludes on the same day. Discounts under the Art-Reach ACCESS program do not apply to festival tickets.
