12-year-old Dakota Fanning and Tom Cruise, also known as Tom Cruise, have maintained a close relationship since starring in “War of the Worlds.” Fanning revealed on the 5th local time that Tom Cruise gives her the same birthday gift every year.
Fanning, who is 30 years old, co-starred with Tom Cruise in the American science fiction disaster film “War of the Worlds” in 2005. When she was 11 years old, Tom Cruise bought her a mobile phone, and after Fanning turned 12, Tom Cruise didn’t forget to give her a new pair of shoes every year.
On the 5th local time, Fanning stated on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” that when she was 11 years old filming “War of the Worlds,” they worked together. On her birthday, he gave her the first Motorola Razr mobile phone.
Host Kelly Clarkson asked Fanning who she called on her birthday. Fanning smiled and said, “I didn’t have anyone to call, but I really wanted a Razr. I must have mentioned it many times, and that’s the gift he gave me. It’s a wonderful memory.”
Since Tom Cruise gave Fanning a mobile phone, he has been sending her a pair of Dakota shoes as her birthday gift every year. Fanning stated, “He sends me the same thing every year. I loved shoes when I was little. During the ‘War of the Worlds’ media tour, I started being able to wear very small adult shoes, so I was very excited. So, starting from that birthday, he always sends me shoes.”
Clarkson then remarked, “That’s great, and the style of the shoes is so random; I love it. Tom Cruise must have sent you a lot of shoes – you must have quite a collection!”
Fanning entered the entertainment industry at the age of five. Besides acting with Tom Cruise, she has also worked with other celebrities such as Kurt Russell, Denzel Washington, and Robert De Niro.
In April, Fanning mentioned on the “ELLE” show that she worked with Kurt Russell in the 2005 movie “Dreamer.” She described Kurt as one of the loveliest and most amazing people, saying, “I really enjoyed working with him. We made a movie about a horse, and he even gifted me a horse.”
