Villagers in Shaanxi Report Public Officials for Illegally Entering Residential Home and Beating Elderly Person

In a report from Epoch Times on May 11, 2026, a villager named Bu Xianming from Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, made a formal report alleging that on May 6, public officials from the Party Committee of the Linqiao Economic Zone in the high-tech district gathered others during working hours to intrude into a private residence, where they violently assaulted his elderly and seriously ill father, causing him to fall into a coma. Following the online attention sparked by this report, official sources stated on May 10 that a joint investigation team has been formed to conduct an inquiry and verification process.

Bu Xianming posted a video on May 8, recounting how on May 6, Bu Xianfu, a cadre from the Party Committee of the Linqiao Economic Zone in the high-tech district, together with two others, forcibly entered his home during working hours. They then grabbed and violently attacked Bu Xianming’s 70-year-old father, who was asleep in bed, through actions like dragging and slapping his head, resulting in him losing consciousness.

The report mentioned that his father, who had various illnesses, had undergone surgery in 2023 at Xijing Hospital and had multiple stents and heart balloons implanted. Following the violent assault, his father’s condition deteriorated rapidly, and he is currently receiving medical treatment at the Third People’s Hospital in Hanbin District. Despite numerous attempts, the family’s complaints to Bu Xianfu’s unit yielded no results.

Bu Xianming affirmed the veracity of the above account and expressed readiness to bear legal responsibilities.

Netizens commented, condemning the act of bullying and violence against an elderly person, especially by a public servant. They emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation and avoiding using one’s status as a shield. The interactions on social media site have shown solidarity with the victim and his family, demanding justice and accountability for the perpetrators.

In response to the outcry, on May 10, the Ankang High-tech Zone Gangkou New City Committee of the Chinese Communist Party stated that they had set up a joint investigation team consisting of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the High-tech Zone and the Public Security Branch of the high-tech zone to carry out an inquiry and verification process. Currently, the investigation is ongoing, with efforts being made to uncover the truth and hold the responsible parties accountable.
