Japanese entertainer Gen Hoshino denied the rumors of infidelity and marriage crisis circulating online in the early hours of the 29th on his radio show “Gen Hoshino’s All Night Nippon.” His wife, Yui Aragaki, also participated in the broadcast over the phone to jointly refute the online rumors.
On the evening of the 22nd, a short post on social media platform X (Twitter) implied that Gen Hoshino was having an affair with a TV anchor, and also mentioned that he and his wife, Yui Aragaki, were facing marital problems. In the early hours of the 23rd, both of them clarified the rumors on social media. Then, in the early hours of the 29th, the couple collectively denied the rumors on their radio program.
Regarding the rumors, Gen Hoshino stated: “There is absolutely no truth in any of it. It’s completely a rumor. Not a single detail in these rumors is true.”
Yui Aragaki explained her participation in the program over the phone, saying, “I was truly surprised by this incident. We, as a couple, are probably the last people to have any idea of ‘how could this happen.’ In such a situation, my fans were worried about me, and I didn’t have a platform to express my thoughts externally, so I disturbed via my husband Gen Hoshino’s radio show.”
On the 23rd, Yui Aragaki updated a section of her official X profile that she doesn’t usually use, stating, “It seems that smoke is rising from a fire that doesn’t exist, and none of the current rumors are true. To those who are worrying about this, please don’t worry.” The profile also mentioned, “This account was opened to prevent impersonation. There are no plans to send information or make statements on behalf of the person. Please understand.” Therefore, a few netizens questioned whether the post was written by her.
In response, Yui Aragaki said on the radio, “I believe I must speak to everyone in person. None of the rumors and commotion this time are true. Out of the desire to reassure everyone, I disturbed (the radio show).”
She further expressed that hearing such rumors circulating and witnessing each other being defamed and attacked was distressing for them both, and they hope such incidents won’t happen again in the future, and they also wish the same for others.
In gratitude for the concern from the public, Yui Aragaki mentioned she rarely has the opportunity to speak out, “I think everyone might be worried about me, but I’m fine.” Gen Hoshino then added, “We are fine.”
Yui Aragaki also stated, “In the future, we will work together in harmony, hoping to lead a stable life. Thank you to everyone who was concerned about our situation. You can rest assured.
