New York City Council Member Zhuang WenYi’s office assists in applying for Section 8 subsidies.

Starting from June 3rd, the office of Brooklyn Chinese-American City Council Member Zhuang Wenyi announced that they will be able to assist the public in applying for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program from the Housing Authority, starting June 3rd.

Between midnight on June 3rd and 11:59 pm on June 9th, the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) will be accepting applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV), marking the first reopening of the waiting list in nearly 15 years.

Recognizing that many Chinese residents may require assistance with English or computer skills, Zhuang Wenyi’s office will aid Chinese residents in completing the application during office hours.

Applicants are required to bring identification, proof of income, rent receipts, utility payment receipts, tax forms, and bank statements, among other documents.
