9-year-old “little police officer” squeezes through dog hole to help elderly woman open door.

In a recent incident in Texas, USA, an elderly woman accidentally locked herself out of her home. A local police officer immediately thought of 9-year-old “junior officer” Lincoln Dobson, who swiftly accomplished a task that would take adults longer: he used his small body advantage to crawl through the doggy door and successfully help the elderly woman unlock her home.

Lincoln’s parents, Randall Dobson and Crystal Dobson, told Epoch Times that what impressed them the most was that their son willingly gave up the joyous time of summer vacation at the pool to help a neighbor in need.

On the day of the incident, Groesbeck Police Department Chief Chris Henson called Randall Dobson, a peace officer, saying he needed Lincoln’s help. Randall Dobson said, “I asked Lincoln if he was willing to help, and he didn’t hesitate to say, ‘Of course!’ and jumped up immediately.”

For this household and the local police department, the actions of this young boy may seem unique, but in reality, they are part of an initiative led by Chief Henson.

Randall Dobson mentioned that Chief Henson always interacts and talks with children, striving to be a role model for them. He gives them a small sticker to wear on their shirts, telling them to do great things, such as helping people.

The proud father shared that Lincoln has taken the lessons from Chief Henson to heart, as this was not his first time helping someone in need by crawling through a doggy door.

When they arrived at the woman’s residence, Officer Tammi Konvicka handed Lincoln a badge before letting him carry out the mission.

Despite his small stature being more suitable for the task than other officers, it was still a challenge for him, especially with a large mixed-breed dog on the other side of the pet door. Fortunately, the dog came out of the doggy door first.

Lincoln petted the dog’s nose and began his operation. His shoulders were somewhat wide, making it difficult to pass through, so he had to twist his body repeatedly before finally squeezing through.

Upon successfully entering the yard, he walked straight to the door and unlocked it.

Randall Dobson said the elderly woman was “very grateful” for Lincoln’s enthusiastic help, as all her essential items were locked inside, including her phone, keys, and garage door opener. The most challenging part was that her family was vacationing in Port Aransas at the time.

For Lincoln, helping his neighbor made him feel “great,” and he was very happy about it. He plans to become a police officer in the future.

When asked why he wants to join the police force, his motivation is simple and selfless: “So I can help more people,” he said.

This brave “junior officer” always maintains a “humble servant’s heart” and constantly remembers his parents’ teachings to treat everyone around him kindly.
