9.3 Military Parade of the Chinese Communist Party Encourages People to Take Action, Beijing Residents Say: Labor and People’s Money Hurt

On September 3rd, the Chinese Communist Party will hold a military parade in Tiananmen Square, Beijing. The atmosphere in the city is unusually tense as strict measures are being implemented. Starting from 6:00 PM on August 9th, traffic controls will be put in place in the Chang’an Street area. Customers are warned to return to their hotels before this time, otherwise they will not be allowed to check in, and food deliveries will also be restricted. Nine areas in Beijing have been designated as no-fly zones, even pigeons will be restricted. In order to safeguard air quality, businesses around Beijing have been instructed to cease operations.

The extravagant military parade organized by the Chinese authorities is scheduled for the morning of September 3rd. Apart from the official announcement, there has been a virtual silence online as voices of netizens are either blocked or deleted.

Some netizens have shared hotel notices online indicating that after 6:00 PM on August 9th, access to hotels along Chang’an Street will be restricted. After this time, even food deliveries will be prohibited, sparking discontent among netizens.

One netizen expressed disappointment, having booked a hotel in advance specifically to witness the parade, only to realize that the city will be under strict lockdown on the day of the event, preventing any outdoor activities.

A former public servant in mainland China, Mr. Yang, told the Epoch Times, “The officials in the Chinese Communist Party are extremely nervous. Recently, there have been a lot of reports about corruption crackdowns, so they are being cautious, sensing that their days are numbered. Regardless of their rank, they feel insecure, as they are restricted from leaving the country and are under heavy surveillance even during activities like gatherings and dinners.”

“Nowadays, the economic situation in China is very dire, and holding such events is meaningless and a waste of resources,” Mr. Yang stated. “The Chinese Communist Party constantly brainwashes the people, making them believe that individual efforts are insignificant compared to the interests of the nation. Through grand military parades, they instill a false sense of patriotism in people. In reality, this generation has been indoctrinated and manipulated by society, resulting in various aspects of spiritual decay.”

Moreover, during every major meeting or event held by the Chinese Communist Party, dissidents are either rounded up for forced exiles to other regions or confined in guesthouses on the outskirts. Mr. Yang pointed out an instance where a dissident named Mr. Li received a notice to leave Beijing in mid-August for a month, with no prior knowledge of his destination, demonstrating the Party’s fear of dissenting voices.

The Beijing Municipal Government has issued a notice stating that from July 16th to September 3rd, nine areas including Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai, Shijingshan, Tongzhou, Changping, and Mentougou have been designated as no-fly zones. Activities like releasing pigeons, drones, kites, balloons, and sky lanterns that may endanger flight safety are strictly prohibited.

A Beijing resident, Mr. Li, remarked, “When the Communist Party conducts exercises, many roads are blocked, numerous parks are closed, and now even pigeons are banned from flying. It serves no purpose other than boosting the morale of the Party members, causing hardships to the people without any meaningful outcome.”

To preserve air quality during the 2025 military parade in Beijing, construction sites in Beijing and six neighboring provinces (Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, and Henan) will be either shut down or limited in operation from midnight on August 20th to 24:00 on September 4th. This includes halting activities like earthworks and building demolitions at construction sites, and concrete mixing factories in the surrounding provinces will also suspend production. Steel factories across the regions will undergo a comprehensive maintenance phase.

Some netizens have expressed concerns about the extended holiday as their income is already low, and a lengthy break will further reduce their earnings.
