5 Dead in Heilongjiang as Sedan Collides with Truck, Reports Indicate Students Among Victims

On June 15th, in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, a sedan collided with a heavy-duty tank truck on Sada Road, resulting in the deaths of 5 individuals. It was rumored online that most of the deceased were students who were on their way to attend a graduation banquet.

According to China Central Television (CCTV) News, the Daqing City Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Brigade reported that around 10 a.m. on the 15th, a sedan and a heavy-duty tank truck collided on Sada Road in Honggang District of Daqing City, leading to the deaths of 5 people.

No further details were disclosed in the report.

According to a person familiar with the matter, “I heard that four of them were graduates of Yucai High School.” “It’s a pity for those kids, I heard they were on their way to attend a graduation banquet.” “Yes, I am a friend of one of the victims, who unfortunately got into the accident on the road.” “I am a friend of the deceased; all five did not survive. I wish my good brothers a safe journey.” “I heard that it was four students and one driver.”

Another alleged individual with inside information suggested that the incident might be related to running a red light.

Last month on the 10th, a traffic accident resulting in student deaths also occurred in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. At a crossroads in Chongchuan District of Nantong, a bus collided with a dump truck. The bus was carrying elementary school students who were on their way to participate in a dance performance. It was reported by the public that there were over forty students on the bus, and some of them lost their lives.
