On December 28, a mountain collapse occurred at a high-speed construction site in Pingle County, Guilin City, Guangxi Province, resulting in at least 4 deaths.
According to reports from Chinese state media, the accident happened at the construction site of the Pingzhao Highway Section 2 in Zhangtan Village, Pingle Town, Pingle County. The collapsed area covered approximately 2000 square meters, trapping 4 construction workers. By the early hours of the 29th, when they were rescued, they had all shown no signs of life.
As of now, the authorities have not officially announced the cause of the collapse.
