46 Chinese Communist naval vessels conduct activities near Taiwan Strait, closely monitored by Taiwanese military.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China (Taiwan) stated that from 6:00 a.m. on the 11th to 6:00 a.m. today (12th), a total of 46 ships and aircraft from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) have been detected causing disturbances near Taiwan. The Taiwanese military is closely monitoring and responding to these activities.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China today released information on the PLA’s activities in the airspace around Taiwan. Between 6:00 a.m. on the 11th and 6:00 a.m. today, a total of 36 PLA aircraft sorties have been detected, including 17 instances of aircraft crossing the median line into northern, central, and southwestern airspace, as well as 8 PLA vessels and 2 government ships continuing activities in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait.

According to the Ministry of National Defense’s data, the PLA’s activities near the Taiwan Strait included the detection of 2 PLA fighter aircraft escort missions in the northern airspace from 2:50 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. on the 11th; 30 sorties of PLA main and escort fighter planes and drones, including 13 instances of crossing the median line, in the Taiwan Strait region from 12:45 p.m. to 7:50 p.m.; and 4 sorties of PLA main fighter planes in the southwestern airspace from 3:45 p.m. to 4:25 p.m.

The Ministry of National Defense pointed out that the Taiwanese military is utilizing reconnaissance aircraft, ships, and land-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond to the PLA’s activities.

Furthermore, the Ministry of National Defense mentioned that the PLA announced the launch of a rocket-carrying activity scheduled to take place from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center towards the western Pacific on the 13th, passing through Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

On the evening of the 11th, the Ministry of National Defense stated that since 2:48 p.m., a total of 30 PLA aircraft, including J-16 fighters and KJ-500 early warning aircraft, as well as drones, have been detected carrying out maritime activities. Seventeen instances of these flights crossed the median line and its extensions, entering the northern, central, and southwestern airspace of Taiwan, in coordination with PLA vessels conducting “joint combat readiness patrols.” The Taiwanese military is employing integrated intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance measures to closely monitor these activities, dispatching reconnaissance aircraft, ships, and land-based missile systems to respond appropriately.

The Ministry of National Defense also released information on the PLA’s activities in the airspace around Taiwan on the morning of the 11th, detecting a total of 5 PLA aircraft sorties and 9 PLA vessels and 1 government ship continuing activities in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait between 6:00 a.m. on the 10th and 6:00 a.m. on the 11th. The Taiwanese military is utilizing reconnaissance aircraft, ships, and land-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond to these activities.
