On May 24th, a collapse occurred during filling operation at a mining company in Linxi County, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, and four people fell into the collapsed pit with their whereabouts unknown. A miner revealed that on May 25th, three people died of suffocation at Shannan Well of Huagu Mountain Coal Industry in Xinyu, Jiangxi.
According to the emergency management and fire departments in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on the 25th, a collapse happened on the surface during the filling operation at Jinyuan Mining Development Co., Ltd. in Linxi County, Chifeng City at 7:45 p.m. on the 24th. Four people fell into the collapse pit and their whereabouts are still unknown.
Screenshots of WeChat conversations, allegedly from informed netizens, indicated that the people who fell into the collapse pit have not been rescued yet, and the mine area has been shut down for rectification.
One netizen mentioned in a chat, “Just came out from the site…” Another netizen left a comment asking, “Can you tell me what happened? Is my grandfather still inside?”
On mainland social media platforms, a netizen claiming to be a miner shared information that a subsidence occurred during the treatment of the water head fluorite mine at Jinyuan Mining. He also disclosed that on May 25th, a suffocation accident resulted in the deaths of three people at Shannan Well of Huagu Mountain Coal Industry in Xinyu, Jiangxi.
A few days earlier, on the night of May 20th, a safety accident happened at a coal mine in Xing’an, Hegang, Heilongjiang, trapping nine people and leading to the death of five of them.
