“Mark Space: Israel’s Precise Attack on Iran Shows Weakness”

On October 26th, Israel conducted retaliatory airstrikes against Iran, targeting military facilities. Western media reports indicated that the Israeli military deployed hundreds of fighter jets in three waves of attacks. Iranian officials stated that approximately 20 targets were hit, including the S-300 air defense system near the capital Tehran.

In response to Iran’s large-scale ballistic missile strikes against Israel on October 1st, Israel launched over 100 fighter jets in the early hours of October 26th, including advanced F-35I stealth fighters, F-15, and F-16 aircraft, to strike a series of military targets inside Iran. The airstrikes in the early hours of the 26th were referred to as the “Day of Atonement Operation,” with the first wave targeting Iran’s air defense systems and subsequent waves focusing on missile and drone bases, as well as weapons production facilities.

Abundant visual evidence confirmed precision strikes on several Iranian military facilities, including missile factories, drone research and production facilities, missile launch sites, among others. Israel’s F-35 fighters likely played a role in initiating the attacks by first launching anti-radiation missiles against Iran’s air defense radar systems, neutralizing them, followed by F-15 and F-16 aircraft launching air-to-ground missiles to destroy air defense missile launchers.

Based on current information, the Israeli military did not conduct close-range airstrikes in Iranian airspace, and Iran did not scramble fighter jets for interception, indicating that the conflict remained limited to missile exchanges. Israel, lacking long-range surface-to-surface ballistic missiles and cruise missiles, relied on air-launched ballistic missiles for distant strikes.

According to the US-based “Power” website on the 26th, Israel launched air-launched missiles over Iraqi airspace, with remnants of Israeli air-launched ballistic missile boosters discovered in Iraq. The Israeli military is currently equipped with Sparrow-series air-launched ballistic missiles, Rock air-launched ballistic missiles, Golden Horizon missiles, and Laura tactical missiles, among others.

Following Israel’s surgical strikes on Iranian military targets, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei publicly addressed the Israeli attacks the next day. Instead of issuing threats of retaliation as in the past, he humbly stated that the decision on whether to retaliate would be made by the Iranian government, emphasizing that Israel’s attacks should neither be exaggerated nor downplayed. His stance was perceived by the international community as a display of weakness, signaling a reluctance to escalate the conflict.
