On the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the June 4th incident, the Chinese Democratic Party and several democratic organizations held a grand commemoration of the June 4th rally and march in Flushing, New York on June 2nd. Hundreds of young members of the Chinese Democratic Party passionately shouted slogans, calling for “Down with the Chinese Communist Party! Overthrow the Chinese Communist Party!”
At the gathering in front of the Flushing Library, people displayed massive banners with powerful messages such as “Never Forget June 4; Overthrow tyranny”, “CCP is the enemy of humanity”, “Overthrow tyranny, eliminate the CCP”, “CCP = enemy of mankind”, “Severely strike at the CCP’s influence in the US, completely block the CCP’s infiltration into the US”, and more.
Participants combined the emblem of the CCP in the shape of a virus, labeled as “CCP Virus”; and turned the CCP’s five-star flag into black, symbolizing the CCP as a dark, evil regime.
Among the attendees were democracy leaders and witnesses of the June 4 massacre, including Wang Junkao, Hu Ping, Zhang Lin, and Shao Jun; Zhang Yan, the widow of the late June 4 political prisoner Li Jinhong who was persecuted to death by the CCP; and a large number of young people who recently came to the US from mainland China. They all united against the CCP, shouting: “Hold the CCP accountable! Eliminate the CCP! Tyranny will perish!”
Hu Ping, the honorary chief editor of “Beijing Spring” and a political commentator, stated that 36 years have passed since the June 4 Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989, yet the murderous regime still remains in power, the martyrs still tarnished, freedom fighters still imprisoned, under soft detention or exiled overseas, and justice still not served adequately.
Hu Ping emphasized that the annual commemoration is not only to remember those who fell in Beijing 36 years ago but to honor all the victims who have perished under the CCP’s tyranny over the past decades. Commemorating June 4 is a form of protest, not only condemning the June 4 massacre but also denouncing all the atrocities committed by the CCP since coming into power.
Wang Junkao, Chairman of the Chinese Democratic Party, stated that the rule of the Communist Party has brought deep disasters to the Chinese people. No political force on earth, like the Chinese Communist Party, has caused such immense suffering to the Chinese people. Only by ending this system can everyone have safety, freedom, and democracy.
Wang Junkao stressed that this year’s June 4 commemoration aims for a transformative change, to study how to overthrow tyranny, how to mobilize the masses – not just exposing the tyranny but also uniting and mobilizing the people. He emphasized that most of the Chinese Democratic Party members present were born after June 4, and their goal is clear: to overthrow the Chinese Communist Party, enabling themselves to enjoy freedom, democracy, human rights, and justice in their homeland.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the increasing number of young participants in the commemoration reflects the escalating oppressive actions of the CCP in recent years, pushing those born after 1995 from mainland China to stand against it.
Zhang Lin, a prominent Chinese dissident and writer, noted a positive sign this year — the increasing number of commemorative events all over the world, not just in New York but also in Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver, and other places.
Yuan Zhe, a member of the Chinese Democratic Party for ten years, who has joined every June 4 commemoration, highlighted the significant increase in attendees this year, especially with many new young faces. This demonstrates that the CCP has become a pariah in the world, with everyone shouting to overthrow it. The days of this bandit-like regime, this evil cult regime, are numbered. The young members of the Chinese Democratic Party played a crucial role in organizing this year’s commemoration event, led by Wang Yonghong. They took on various responsibilities such as making banners, maintaining order, filming videos, preparing sound systems, and commemorating in multiple forms like reciting poems, singing together, and performing skits.
Gong Kai, a member of the Chinese Democratic Party, stated in an interview that the CCP is like a startled bird now, anxious all the time. He urged the Chinese people not to fear the CCP but to join the tide of history to overthrow it. While people can fail numerous times, the CCP, once it fails, will be swept into the dustbin of history.
After the gathering concluded, hundreds of people carried banners, marched along Main Street from the front of the Flushing Library to Northern Boulevard, raising their voices in slogans, attracting the attention of numerous passersby who witnessed the grand event and march.
